Help Megasquirt 2 L28et

First time posting so here goes.  I've had the engine running but it was really rich, 9-10 afr, running cygnusx1 tune.  I dialed the numbers down in the area's it was idling at and it looked similar to Datmans posted tune.  So, I used all of his numbers in both my VE table and Timing Table and now I can't get the car started.  I'm pretty sure I'm getting enough fuel because I can smell it and see it on the spark plugs.  Just put new plugs in.

Motor:

L28et - P90 2 mm head gasket

EDIS-6

MS2

440 supra injectors (Low impedance), flow tested revealed 460 cc

Fuel pressure 42 pounds

Tune attached.

Can the MS experts here take a look at my tune and point out any thing wrong?  I'm about to give up on the supra injectors and find some high impedance injectors near 440.

Have you tried to cruise it around running VEAL? Just looked at your setup, your fuel curve looks close. I would mess with the required fuel to try to get the AFRs closer. I didnt start with a map from someone, I just copied an ignition MAP from the stock ECU and let VEAL do its thing. Its worth th $60 to register Tunerstudio, thats a tank of gas you will save in tuning. Also megalogviewer will do it for free.

Thanks for your input.

I'm traveling right now but will be back home this weekend. The plan is to put the old timing map back in and then see if it starts. If not then I will put the old ve table back on and quickly lower the values after it's started. Then I will try the VEAL function. I will keep you guys updated.

The engine is ALIVE but still running rich. I spent most of my day double checking the ignition system so tomorrow I will try to tune down the warm-up enrichment and VE table.

What should I target for warm-up enrichment? Currently, at 80 F engine coolant temperature it was at 10 afr and at 160 F it was 12 afr.

I will try to get as close to 14 afr for warm idle but know most people are running at 13.5 afr.

Mattb3562 – I have access to an oscilloscope and current probe from work. Those values for the injectors are what I found to be the minimum values. I will double check those values next week and let you know. I’ll try to post a picture of the oscilloscope screen so you can see for yourself.

My car starts at about 12.5AFR at 70 and linearly Richens to stoic at 160. My engine has and will always run stoic at idle. It idles smooth at 15btdc timing.

This.

Don't worry about anything other than start enrichment and idle until that works correctly.

Minimum injector time doesn't matter that much. If it's 0.3 millisec too low, it will be compensated by 0.3 millisec more in your fueling cells. As long as it's getting approximately the correct amount of fuel, you can tweak it closer later. The only time an incorrect minimum injector time becomes a problem is if it's too high and you cannot take enough fuel out to idle. Start low.

Make sure your timing sync is correct. Otherwise, you will be super rich and try continually leaning it out and then it will go lean with practically nothing in the middle.

Get some more plugs, too, before you continue. You ran too long on those plugs if you got almost to warmed up temp. Take that variable out of the equation and you can switch back to them later.
