Milenko2121
It has N-15 and R2 stamped on it. There is no stamp at the rear of the cam. I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks, Mil Edited March 14, 2014 by Milenko2121
NewZed
The stamp on the back of the camshaft can be hard to see. Did you wipe the grunge off? Might take some carb cleaner or solvent to get it clean enough to see. The numbers you see are cast in to the blank shaft. Before it's ground. So they're meaningless. Milenko2121
I wiped the back clean, and even tried to feel for a stamp with my fingernail, and nothing. it's perfectly smooth.
yhlz
Is there reason for you to believe they are not factory cams?
Milenko2121
I got the engine from a junkyard, and swapped it in. It ran rough so I checked cam timing, and it was fine. I swapped my old stock P90 head on, and it runs perfect. The head with the assumed aftermarket cam looks to be in great condition. The fact it has no visible markings like normal stock cams is what has me confused. I'm going to sell the extra P90 head, but I wanted to be sure I have the right information for the buyer. ctc
Is there anything on the front of the cam under the timing gear? I have seen some aftermarket cams stamped there.
Xnke
Possibly a rebuilt head with an aftermarket cam core...similar, but not the same as a "CWC" core. Does it say E30 JAPAN anywhere on it? If not, then it is not likely a factory cam core, and will not have a cam stamp corrisponding to the factory cam grinds.
