Meatwad
I have looked around for the last coue of days and haven't found the answer to this. I'll be using a 5.3 and was wondering if the truck intake manifold would fit under the hood of the 280z? It would save me about $500 if the truck intake would clear the hood
tecreatta
No you need a car intake. A truck intake is too tall. Common knowledge here and on ls1tech.
EastTnZ
Ls1 intake $100, new tb $90, used injectors and fuel rails $50. Half of the $500 cost and it looks better IMHO.
Meatwad
I knew it was tall for most cars, but wasn't sure how much room was under the hood with the LS engine in a z car
mattd428
Truck throttle body fits the ls1 intake. Truck injectors can also be installed on an ls1 intake. Ran it like that for a year and will continue that way.
Meatwad
I know the TB and injectors will fit. Did it to a Porsche 944 with a 5.3 in it currently.

Are you still finding these parts at these prices? I've been looking for about two weeks straight and have had no luck.
EastTnZ
Yep type in "ls1 tb" on eBay and there's the $86.40 throttle body. $100 Ls1 intake at all swap meets that's the going rate around east tn. And injectors and fuel rails I bought off ls1tech used for cheap in the classified after a few weeks.

Jay Gadsby
I may have to call that guy lol. Everyone around my area seems to be reading LS1Tech and other V8 forums. Everyone wants a million dollars for anything LS.
Meatwad
I bought my ls1 intake from my neighbor for $50, then swapped it with a ls6 intake that was on a 5.3 Porsche 944 sitting in my garage. I got a TB for free. Bought ls1 fuel rails for $40 from a guy in a local car club
ukcats07
Saw this today. I PM'd that guy the same day and they were already sold!
Naptown Dave
https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/pts/4733046121.html Ls1 intake outside Indianapolis $
ukcats07
https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/pts/4733046121.html Ls1 intake outside Indianapolis $50 Damn. Wish I was close for that. I ended up getting a complete ls1 intake and camaro oil pan setup for $600 shipped. I know I overpayed, but fuel rails, injectors, TB, etc was adding up and that deal seemed alright for the whole package. Oh well...
