JPN_Garage
Well I am almost done with my 74 260Z VQ35de swap and I have hit a little bump that is killing me. I went with a 32,000 mile 2004 VQ35de motor and its 6 speed tranny with motor harness portion, Custom fead and return fuel system with 6an nylon braided hoses, walbro 255 fuel pump and aeromotive fpr to hold 55lbs fuel pressure, custom motor mounts and tranny mount by Cam Fabrications For the programming portion I went with the Z fever kit witch modifies your stock 350Z harness and modifies the ecu to run on a non 350Z vehicle, it also tunes it with uprev. The wiring has already been installed and the car has been started with the VQ motor but here is the issue. The car starts immediately and maintains its rmp's and everything runs smooth but once you shut down the car and start it again the car only accelerates to 1500 rpm, I already replaced the throttle body for a new one and this did not fix the issue, I also checked for any codes and there were non. To fix the issue I have to disconnect the battery and wait for 30 min to 1 hour for the car to work normal again. What can this issue be? Any help would be appreciated. ihiryu
I've heard some hit and miss stuff about Z fever. I would invest in a good OBD2 scanner that can datalog, or invest in UpRev's Cipher cable to take a look at whatever else could be missing. You can rule out Cam and Crank Position sensors though, because if one of those fail, it'll just have a hard start condition.

Redwine automotive
What kind of scanner are you checking codes with ,the generic obd may not see all the codes .

Pharaohabq
If I read your post right, it the engine when you are HAVING the problem, won't rev past 1500 rpm. That sounds a lot like Limp mode to me, which tells me that uprev missed something. I'd give them a call and describe the issue.

When you first start the car it starts normal its only when you shut it down and try to restart it again that is goes into limp mode, That's why I thought it was the throttle body at first but after replacing it the same issue was there. Pharaohabq
Crap, That sucks. Hope they find it in one piece. It'd still probably be good to call uprev, since I'm sure they've seen all these problems before. I but they'll have some good advice. Nismospek
Did you ever get this resolved? Curious, what was it?
JPN_Garage
Yes I did, the wiring close to the throttle body was not pinged correctly so it was throwing the whole engine off, I rewired a portion of the harness and everything worked great after. rtodaro01
Just curious if in your VQswap, you figured out how to eliminate any of the vacuum lines or hoses from the engine to clean it up? Also, where did you run the harness through the firewall? I am doing a VQ37 swap - any help would be great.
