malibud
I am looking at a set of wannabees wheels 15X8 +40 offset on a lowered (eibach/illuminas set up) The price is fair but I not sure if they will work. I know I would need spacers but I also have read some negative things regarding bolt on spacers. I am running 250-300hp. Any advice would be appreciated. I searched but did not find much on running that much. Thanks DC
R3VO 3VOM
You will need spacers as you said. You'll rub on that front stock spring perch. I think you'll need at least a 32mm spacer for that +40; A lot of x8's need at least at least +10 to clear. A lot of people run a +0 which fit fine. Bolt on spacers are fine in my opinion. I run 1" ones on the back of my Z with 350hp and no problems. Just make sure they are the bolt on kind and you check the torque on the nuts from time to time. I have heard bad things about slip on spacers with stock length studs though. Edited March 4, 2015 by R3VO 3VOM

jhm
Your title says "-40" offset, but your post says "+40" offset....assuming that "+40" offset is correct, since you're asking about spacers? I've been using 1" spacers for several years with no problems. I use these guys and have been very happy with their prices and the quality of the hardware: https://www.ezaccessory.com/
