this car is SICK! ive seen it a couple of times on the track here in Norway, the car is from sweden, but the owner (who owns a VW audi tuning shop) is at almost all of the car & track shows in Norway. he also owns a Audi sportquattro who is just as fast, if not faster then the golf!

here is a couple of short clips of the car at the track.

I think most of you know me by now as one who is skeptical of high HP claims. I am not saying this car does not have 900hp, but.....

I know it is a road racing machine but bear with me, I am trying to make a point. If this car was set up for drag racing and weighed 2400lbs, it would be capable of running the 1/4-mile in 8.0 at about 168mph. AWESOME car but I do not believe the HP claim. If on a road course it can out-accelerate the likes of the top LeMans-type cars (Audi R8, Bentley, etc) I can start believing, but out-accelerating the likes a mildly-modded Euro-Escort is no indication.

Well actually...this car is making 900hp. It was featured in Sport Compact Car Magazine over a year ago. I forget exactly how much the guy put into the car but it was above $250,000 as I remember. He has two gas tanks in it, for race gas and street gas and he switches over when he runs higher boost. I think he runs like 45psi on race gas, that is why he makes 900hp. Makes you sick to the stomach...doesn't it. :puke: LOL I will look for this magazine when I get home tonight. It is somewhere at home.

The 900 HP claim was ESTIMATED since he could not get traction on the dyno if memory serves. I think 600 is more realistic, he may have actually documented that.

I agree with you Scottie, saying you have Hp is one thing, putting it to the ground and showing you have it is another. His car did not move out very good in any of the pic's. It sounds good, but even the one where the guy is in the car and you can see him shift and hear boost, the scenery never really seems to move very fast.

I hate it when mags put crap in there like that. If you don't have the paper saying it makes it, don't print it.

Guess I am just a skeptic who always uses a point of reference against such claims. Since that is an Audi engine, the incredible Audi R8 LeMans-class car uses a 3.6L TT-V8 and it is putting out about 625hp. Granted, there are class restrictions that limit its output, but still not to the point to say it can make 900hp. The way that Golf accelerated pass that Escort is the about the same way an R8 passes a Porsche GT3 which is putting out 450hp!

I have no traction so it must have 900 HP? . . . .

Easy way to find out would be duty cycle, injector size, and # of cylinders. I would think something like this would be dyno tuned, which would have given them a number instead of guessing. I suppose if you have enough track space you can tune with a wideband though, not my prefered method though!

4.5" stainless steel exhaust

10 bosch 800cc/min injectors

Audi engine managemant
