hearing thigs about 300zx ecu on 280zx's

Because the Z31 ECU wires to the MAF. The harnesses between the 280ZXT and the Z31 are similar, so the swap is not difficult. IMHO, the MAF flows so much greater than a flapper, it makes the swap worthwhile.

I agree about the MAF being so much better. I now run the JWT setup and let me tell you it's night and day between the two set ups. I don't know how to explain it but, you can just tell the flapper door is gone. I also built a 3" manderal pipe that connects the MAF tot he turbo and I think also helps to reduce restriction over the crazy wire and rubber stock pipe.

I installed both JWT system in my car. the first was the sport 350 and yes I did have to go through the mods to get it in the car, but boy was there a difference off the line. My stock 280 system was a dog right off the line to about 2000 rpm andthen it seemed to have power. When I installed the first system it was night and day, the car responded so much better at the lower rpm's and the rest of the rpm ranges as well. But it was the low end that I really liked. :D

What all is needed to do this swap? I am thinking about doing it until I can afford a Microtech. Also, how far can the JWT take you, HP wise? Can I run different injectors with it?

Do I just pull the Z31 ECU, MAF, and coil? Do I need any of the wiring from the Z31 car? Can I do the 240SX TB swap on this as well? Anything else?

Thanks,

Jason

Supposedly the JWT setup, the sport 450 or something, can get you 450 hp. That comes with injectors. I run a stock Z31 turbo ECU - without modifications you have to run the stock injectors. I modified my MAF, and added an adjustable FPR so I could run larger injectors, and so-far, so-good. As far as wiring goes, you need to make that decision yourself - I modified the 280ZX harness for the ECU, some have swapped over the Z31 harness. There are many options; pick one you are comfortable with, none are particularly easy or completely straightforward.
