RB26powered74zcar
Wow, that's an old thread if Joel is asking questions. Man..... I'd be about $20,000+ ahead if I would have just kept the L6 turbo stroker I had in it at the time of that post.
draft.phunk.amd
Wow, that's an old thread if ... Oh, NOW i get my avatar! Anyways, I'll agree with you. I'm nowhere near an engine swap. The RB25, is an appealing and difficult swap that I've been thinking about. Not a project for me to be taking in this early stage of my life. The earliest I think I could concieve doing this would probably be in the 3-4 year range after I do other mods and have money saved over. Just trying to understand the process of what needs to happen for a successful swap is currently mindboggling to me lol

piston
just get a carb 5.7 350 and make it easy. anyone can work with that. its been over done but what the hell, what do you know about a rb? do some homeowork and make it work, not pay someone to do it and scratch your head when it goes bad. plus you can have an rb with 500hp and the locals will be like, oh, and have a plain ass 350 and people will say WOW. .lol. Maybe that is true in your neck of the woods. California has a massive amount of Japanese culture/cars unlike much of the rest of the country where it's Ford and Chevy V8's all day long. Now if I could just get one of those pesky six litre, six speed setups to sneak under the hood of my car.... LOL

jakeoster
Haha hes from California. NO WAY it is gonna smog unless you do something scheisty, thats why hes selling it Nice deal though, look at that teeny tiny radiator haha. The car itself is kinda ugly in my opinion. draft.phunk.amd
ya, for that sale, just take the engine, and part out anything else in the car. i don't know all the rules for getting a smog certification. mainly how an engine swap affects it. definitely needs the stock headers for the rb25, don't know if its got them...might need a few catalytic converters too. it'd be too much work to get this car registered, part it out if you buy it. piston
you wont be able to smog it period. its a jdm engine and not sold here in the states. meaning no smog equipment, egr etc... jdizzy204
buy the car, swap the motor into a 240z and part out the rest of the car to recoup costs
nismologist
you may not be able to FINISH the swap on 4500, but you can sure start it and get the engine in the bay along with the trans. just be ready to do ALL the work yourself. wiring is the brain pincher.
