Mikelly
...Here: http://photos.yahoo.com/dat74z Drove the PISS out of it this evening, then let my best friend hammer it... He scared me at one point... Working the ABS, Traction control and AHS settings... MAN, it just gets more and more impressive the more I drive it! Guest Neil
Yeah! You had a gathering after you got your garage finished. You should invite everyone over for a ride around the block in your new car.
Scottie-GNZ
Harumph! I see a road trip in your future, March 14th to be exact :D
PETEW
Mike, That is a beautiful car. Congratulations on the purchase, I really like the wheels that you have. Your brave letting your friends abuse your car, not me, people can drive or ride my stuff but don't do nothing unless you can right a check. Seriously, enjoy the ride but take it slow. I would hate to hear that you crashed it because you weren't familiar with the car yet. Heck I would just hate to hear that you crashed it. Be safe and keep it rubber side down. Mikelly
Uh, Barry makes $110K per year and could right a check... We've been best friends and racing partners for over 16 years and I trust him with my life. And Uh, THis isn't the first time I've driven a Vette fast (Or any car I'm not overly familiar with)... But I appreciate the concern... Mike

Guest Thurem
Anyone know of a site that explains the differences from year to year of the C5, and also talks about the different options etc... Which year is the one to have and which ones are the best year? Thure
jt1
Mike, that's a nice looking car, I'm glad you're pleased. Vette's amaze me because they are quick cars, yet retain the ride, sound level, convenience, and comfort of cars that are just people movers. Vette's are like M3's in that respect, but with more power and rubber. Get her tuned up, take it to the track, and give us a report. Two things to remember: Don't start hanging out at corvetteforums; Watch out for those V8 Zcars, they will hand you your ass!!!!!! Mikelly
Thur, Go over to http://www.corvetteforums.com and post that question... there are many different combos out there as far as power options and suspension options... The one consistant with every model BUT the Z06 is the LS1 Powerplant. Obviously they have a T56 and an auto 4 speed, and ALL of them come with the same size brakes, even the Z06. Z45, Z51 and Z06 handling packages on top of traction control, Active Handling Suspension, and Real time Suspension Damping... Those are the suspension options... Also, LSD is an OPTION, but comes on most cars. Make sure your's has it. Mine has LSD and 3.42 gears. Here is the kicker though, pretty much all of the Z06 suspension will bolt on. Also if you get the Realt Time Damping, swapping to aftermarket shocks is a problem. I've got a set of Z06 Sway bars on order ($150) and I've also already received a Borla XR1 Catback (Got it for $150 Brand new from a guy who bought it for a Jag project car!) and a GMS Twin ram air filter charger kit with powertube ($200)! Parts are super reasonable to tweek these cars... One thing I HATE about the car... The shifter. I've got one on order... Hurst short shifter kit ($195 including shift knob!). I love this car! I'm also signing up for a FATT in March with Pete... Scottie, get Pete to commit to driving down and I'll be there! Mike
Moridin
I really like the color of that car. Very nice!!! Speaking of Vettes, I saw another one like yours today, except it had black deep set wheels with a polished lip. Also very nice. When do I get to bring the Cobra out there for a race? Mikelly
Now let's be honest here Moridin... What would be the chances that your mother would let you drive HER car to Virginia from Northern California??? If you're game... Bring it! 8) Mike

Bring it! 8) Mike Pretty much slim to none, but I like to think so Sounds like a fun road trip to me...maybe one to go look at some out of state colleges to transfer to from the JC I'm at If only it was my dad's car That may be a road trip for my little Honda though, if I can ever get the damn motor in (rear motor mount is being a huge PITA). I'd love to see your Vette, the Z, Pete's Z, and a bunch of other east coast Z's. Who knows...maybe hell will freeze over and I'll get to take it

FATTs are all through the warm months, the SEZ is once a year.

PETEW
Mike, Do you have any pics of the vette now that it has tinted windows? Also when are we going to get a video of a tire roasting ceremony? I think the old tires and wheels would do nicely. Man I wish I had a vette. V8ZRACER260Z
Nice Ride Mike. We had to paint a headlight cover on one that color. Real fun to do a panel paint on that car but we did it. Rick
