Jason Jarvis
Les' date=' the owner of Classic Datsun is a friend of mine. I will ask him about that to see if he cant make an exception. He has the mould for it, I have one of his fiberglass ones. Ron[/quote'] Would yuou mind asking about the ZG flares as well, if it is an option, and a general idea of price. I know you pointed out that he could probably do it when I brought them up in the first place. I don't want to step on anyones toes, I know what this thread was started for, but I agree that if someone else is already doing it, it would be best to concentrate on something new, unless the existing company has poor quality or ridiculous prices. Jason Jarvis
Any ideas on price ranges for some of the parts we are talking about ? I'm interested most in the taillight panel and splitter for the MSA aero kit. I know it is too early to set anything firm, but I think it needs to be discussed. I know for me it is a lot easier to say, "yeah, I'd buy that" than it is to actually write the check..... Jason
Metallicar
Why not: 240 and early 260 Carbon Bumpers Carbon Bumper Strips for the Stock Bumpers Bumper Ends to replace the original rubber ones for the
BillZ260
I am fix'in to cut up my heater vent/control insert and epoxy some CF in there, would be VERY sweet if there was a full CF version with just a Flat area where the vents, heater controls, maplight, and warning lights are. In leiu of one getting made anytime soon, i will go ahead and make my hybrid/plastic/cf version. OH, also would LOVE to see the Door pannells and the rear inside quarter skins in CF with like some rubber mounts or whatever to keep them from buzzin. Guest fcz
I have finished the valve cover mold and I will have pictures of the first part by friday. Just an update. As for the rear panels, the molds did not work out due to the acute angles on the bottom corner. I will have to mod and redesign the setup, possibly making it just one part panel instead of 2. The 280z will be up next.[/b]

Guest Drewz
Sorry couldn't wait so I have already started my 71 camaro taillight install. If you are going to or have made a rear taillight surround with no cutouts out of CF let me know ASAP.
DatsunATX
Man this gets me all giddy CF rocks, Lets see i want a taillight panel a full dash cap a 3-inch cowl hood and thats all for now oh yeah i have a 77 280 by the by
rc's240z
ATX, Hey glad to see you excited about this stuff. BUT: No one currently makes a tail light panel for a 280 in carbon. Les Cannaday does hoods, but not a cowl hood and I doubt he would consider doing one. And Lastly...We made a CF dash, and probably wont make another one for several reasons. We currently make Fiberglass race dashes for 240 Z's but will not be making them for the specific 280Z dash (our 240 dash will fit a 280). No one that I have spoken to is making a CF dash cap for a 280. So: These are all great opportunities if someone wants to make these parts. The kicker here is that you have to sell enough of them to make it profitable and the parts that your looking for will be a tough sell. Good luck
240Z_Master
Anyone make a carbon hood for cheaper than 6 bones?
rc's240z
I apreciate your interest in cost savings, $600 is a lot of money. BUT, you will get what you pay for...And cheaper is not always better. There are a few cheaper alternatives that will not hold up or last. Classic Datsun's product is the best I have seen. If $600 is too much there is a fiberglass alternative that is cheaper. 240Z_Master
I've seen the hoods, I admit, they are worth every penny, and I'm all about that carbon fiber look, since it'll match the gun-metal on my rims... I think i've got about 400 bucks in change in a bucket...it's getting tempting...
rc's240z
I know Les has a CF hood in stock although I think it is promised to another customer in northern california. You might want to contact him if the sale of this current item falls though. I am sure you saw his green z at MSA with the hood installed.
