Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
Hey Gang Juan here. I know you haven't seem me much on the boards but I have been busy with my Z ,taking care of removing overstocked items, and bringing you some new items for 2004! here are your numbers for the rear brakes. 12.19x.81 rear brakes The hat will be identical to what I offer now but made with a total thickness of .792" Here is the brake down in numbers .272 is the hub surface material where the 4 lug holes are. .125 is the outside step needed for rotor centering .395 is the center counter bore with a 6" diameter. The bracket will not have any offset so that should be more than simple to machine from a .25 stock steel. With these numbers you get a .25" steel caliper bracket that works with Wilwood Superlite series caliper using a .81 rotor. Now you could shim the caliper in further and you could go a larger rear width rotor. Let me know if you guys are interested. I will come tomorrow with some more concrete prices. I will give you a reg price and offer and special first time run price! This is just a guess but it looks like around $279.95 or so. Yes its more than the front but The caliper bracket is larger and needs more machining. The hats will be more larger and needs that large center 6" counter bore to fit inside the the rear hub flange. If you notice my front hats I dont counterbore the centers. Only the spot for the bolts. This saves you money and keeps prices low. I will offer prepaid orders at a 20% discount! Im running this special for 3 weeks. As far as the front 5 lug hubs goes I haven't had enough interest for the hubs. I decided to go with he 5 lug brakes which was more priority. I will follow with the rear 5 Wilwood lug as well soon after. Thanks! Juan
Mike Mileski
Juan, will the rear 5 lug setup be made to work with a 1.25" thick rotor, to match the front 5 lug setup you currently offer? That way you could use a caliper with 1.75" diameter pistons on the front and 1.38" diameter pistons on the rear and your rotors would be the same front and back. mrcheeze36
Hi Juan. Will there be an adaptor for the e-brake, and for the first run, will they be anodized? Thanks. -Eric
JMortensen
Nice Juan!!! Let me just say that I have been collecting parts to set up my fronts and I can't wait to get them on the car. Maybe this weekend. Excellent parts, even better prices. At some point you'll definitely have more business from me when I buy a set of rears. Guest Looking for apt in Alb Ny
Hi.. Does anyone have info on the leverage style ebrake caliper that Wilwood has? I went to their site but its not there. If that's still available an ebrake setup can be done using the same hats. The only thing needed would be a plate (which would be wickedly cool looking ) to mount the 2 calipers. This could take a while to build a rear eBrake setup because more time and research into the adaption would be needed. As far as the rear ebrake goes I will concentrate on the above mentioned setup with rear vents first. I really really appreciate the help and support for generating these parts. Honestly don't thank me. I just can't let an opportunity to help and knowing I have the machine facility minutes away from me. The more the interest the better the price. Mike, I dont see why you couldn't slap on a 1.25 rear rotor. Though it does seem a to be a large rotor for the rear. I'm not to argue on what people want to do. There should be enough clearance with the same hat but the brake bracket will be offset. This means more time and machining to make a bracket offset and strong. Sure I could make the hat a smaller thickness but its not the hat that should be modded but the bracket. This will help keep expense down still a bit and not have to machine a new expensive hat. You best net then is to make your own rar caliper bracket or mod the one which I will supply. I have a quote on the rear hats only. The cost of brackets and hardware will be added on to the hats shortly. The brackets I still have to get designed and quoted on. a pair of 4 lug rear hats so far is at $180!! This does not reflect the 5 lug cost. Ill try to see if I can squeeze in the 5 lug and keep the machine time down. So stay tune. Thanks again Juan oh I will make a post about this new style of caliper bracket I had designed not to long ago.It has to do with he 280zx Wilwood setup. I think you'll enjoy it. thanks Juan

mrcheeze36
Hi Juan. I'm interested in the rear 4 lug setup also. Any word on how much the set will cost (anodized black hats, brackets, and hardware)? Also, when do you think an e-brake adapter will be completed? Will the rear setup clear 15" rims just like the front setup? Thanks Juan. Looking forward to getting another one of your products! -Eric

Guest zigzac
Hi Juan, I took a look at your site and noticed it said the rear kits were now available, does that mean those of us who preordered a kit should be expecting them in the mail soon? -Zac
Drftn280zxt
Juan, Hopefully I can eventually use my three years of training on CAD, and 3DVIS. These were probably the two most valuable classes I took in high school. I just graduated this year. I'd post the animation I made this year that I did in VIS but my teacher forgot to burn all of our work to CD's and give them to us like he said he would. My skills with CAD and VIS earned me the title for which I was awarded for, Drafting student of the year, out of like 300 drafting students. (my high school was big, 3000+ students(I live in Las Vegas what do you expect)). (I'm not asking for a job just telling you meaningless info for the heck of it) Sorry to get off subject but in the future I'll be considering a five lug conversion with bigger (12"or>) brakes and four pot calipers, along with coilovers when I find'em for my 280ZX. With the quality I see in your products your at the top of the list as far as I'm concerned. Here's a weird question. Are CNC machines capable of milling and L28 engine block (bored to 3.1L) out of a solid Aluminum block?(I not asking you to do it, I'm just curious to know for future reference)
