innerware
Hi. I am just wondering what mirrors everyone is using on there Z's? Stock, aftermarket, custom, etc. Pics please of what you think are cool ones. I really want a passenger mirror since mine didn't come with one and thought I would find out what everyone has done and what looks good. I have seen some aftermarket ones like in MSA but don't know what they look like on the car. Thanks all, Kyle
240Z2NV
Don't have pics to post yet; but, I'll likely go with Talbot (Bullett) style chrome mirrors. I have a set of 280ZX mirrors without the remote cable that I got as an option I'll likely be selling. They work well. Also, older RX-7 power mirrors work well. lilj
yeah, i'm looking for some nice mirrors, from whatever car.. i just don't like the fov i get from the stock mirrors and what not.. know of anything larger than the 280zx ones? =| thanks -j
hanomon
Like 240Z2NV mentioned, I also took some off the mid-80s RX-7. Both mirrors all the controls and wires from the pick-a-part set me back only about $25.00. I'll be posting pics of the instal along with the entire conversion here soon. spdsk8r
On my first Z/V8 conversion, I used mirrors from my donor car. They were from a 77 Z-28 Camaro. On my present ZX I am using the stock mirrors.

tannji
My 240Z came with ZX power mirrors..... hate em.... they look like azz.I am leaning towards either billet or a trip to the junkyard.
Tim240z
tim: where did you buy the mirror? and why only on the driver`s side? If it was up to me, I wouldn't have any outside mirrors, but the CA Vehicle Code requires an outside driver's side mirror and inside mirror at a minimum.... http://www.racerwholesale.com/ Tim
Guest Ozoner
I have the MSA mirrors that mount on the window frame. I didn't want to drill holes in the door. 8) Ozoner
Hybrid240z
Ozoner, I have been thinking of installing that set on my Z. Is that set you are using the older one they used to make or the new ones they are making now for $100? Marcos
Guest Ozoner
I bought these about 12 years ago from MSA. The mounting plates were rusted and I was able to buy just the mounting plates about 6 months ago. At that time they didn't have the kit available anymore, but now I see kit is on their web site(that's where I got the picture). I haven't seen the new mirrors, so I can't be sure what they look like. Mine look just like the ones pictured. Ozoner
Z-TARD
No pics of these yet, as my car is still in chunks waiting to be assembled, but these are the mirrors I have for mine:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33649&item=2476631583 Mike

Keep the ideas coming though!!! Those last ones are a bit pricey though aye?

Dan Juday
Dan those are SWEET! what car did they come off of? Sterling. British four door sedan from the '80's based on a Honda. Maybe the first gen Acura Legend? They are even electric and heated. I gutted the electrics though. Didn't want the complication. Taking them apart I found they were made by Rover, not Honda. Being English the electric parts probably didn't work anyways. Isn't this the logo for Lucas Electrics?
