Mikelly
Actually, If you scrole ALL THE WAY past the kits and go to the calipers being offered, then scrole back up to the LAST "GT to Cobra" upgrade package, You will see the kit that I bought for Our Mustang... It was $429. It is now $479. Mike
Guest iskone
I looked at the enitire page and didn't see them, Maybe I'm just a dumb ass. ASre you looking on the cobra page? I did see some cheaper kits Solid rotors $449 Sloted and drilled rotors $
Mikelly
These are the black caliper with NO lettering and solid rotors. Under the 5lug Mustang and Cobra selection. Mike
Guest iskone
Ok, I'll look a little harder. Just a quick thought I had and I'm sure it's on the forums somwhere. Could you use the REAR Cobra rotors on a Z hub that was drilled out to a five lug? I'm thinking someone will say no.
Guest JAMIE T
If I can find a caliper with 1.10" between the pads and e-brake, I'm going to use the cobra front rotors on the rear also. I think the C5 vette rear caliper might have the spacing. Mike, throw some calipers across the C5 rear rotor for me would ya? I want 13" rotors front and rear to fill up my wheels. It shouldn't cause any problems since the caliper will still be much smaller than the front. My next item will be some experimental Titanium control arms. Front and rear. Guest iskone
JamieT: Could you expalin how that would work and the parts you would need?
Guest JAMIE T
Obviously you will need 5-lug stub axles(available from Ross at a great price). A custom caliper bracket, and ring spacers to make the rotor hub-centric on the axle. That should just about do it. I'll offer them after I get those bugs worked out also. I already have the hub-centric rings for mine. I just need a set of calipers to do the fit-up.
Guest iskone
Taht would be a good way to go if the price is right. Buying a front and rear Cobra brake kit is only $1,000, even cheaper if you buy solid rotors.
stony
very interested keep us posted on price and updates. I would like to see a pic of the finished product also.
Guest JAMIE T
Will do! I should have a price in a couple of days. I'll post it here. I was by there today ironing out some details. I took them some bearings and races and the Cobra rotor. What will happen is, I'll get the hub assembled on the strut, then mock-up the caliper and make a prototype caliper bracket. I'll then take them the prototype bracket for duplicating it in a machined part. What will probably have to happen is I'll need to pay for the hubs before they start on the brackets. So, if you guys pay up front for the hubs, I'll send them to you. Then, when the bracket is worked out, I'll send them after. Let me know if that makes since. The caliper bracket may be steel since all these engineer types around freak out when you mention aluminum for anything. I hate steel. It just rusts. Paint doesn't hold-up on parts like these. Maybe Zinc or cad plating. I could also powdercoat them I guess. Maybe stainless, but then no one could afford it. At any rate guy's... As I said in a few posts earlier I am only making 5 sets and one is mine, so that is only four sets that will be forsale. I know Mike is in for one set, so that leaves 3 sets. Supra510
The Disk Brakes Australia site "DBA" used to have a page that showed rotor specs, width, hat offset etc. Good resource if they still have it posted. Guest JAMIE T
Ok guys, I have a price for the hubs. Remember these are for 5-lug hubs, that are the stock offset. The are specifically designed to accomodate the '94+ Mustang Cobra 13" brake conversion. The Cobra parts are readily available for reasonable prices and are an OEM quality part. The Calipers feature twin pistons and they have dust seals making them ideal for daily usage as well as track events. Better yet, you can get pads from you local autoparts store in a pinch. Cross drilled/slotted rotors are dime a dozen. For the hubs only the cost is $375. For $425 I'll include the bearings/races, seals and ARP screw in wheel studs. The caliper brackets will follow. So, Guy's please post here if you are ready for a set of these so I can let the shop know to proceed.
Guest iskone
I'd love to get a set but right now I have to finish my bathroom, so I'm tapped out But my bath tub is in my living room my toilet is in the kitchen and my vanity is in my office, so it won't be long until I can take a shower! After you make your first run would you be willing to give out the drawings so other guys(like myself) can go in on a few sets down the road? Mikelly
Put me down for a set with bearings and races. Mike
Guest JAMIE T
After you make your first run would you be willing to give out the drawings so other guys(like myself) can go in on a few sets down the road? Sorry, I can't do that. I'm paying $360 up front for just the CAD design and CNC programming out of my own pocket. I hope you understand my position. And, like I've stated in earlier posts, I'm not making any money on these. My set will cost me the same as your set. FWIW, I'll have as many sets made as we need, as long as they are all paid for. I can't afford to buy them all myself. BTW, I take PayPal to make it easier for you guys. PayPal account is jamestaylor11@msn.com.
