Owen
That is sweet!! I love the AE86's too, and the ones in the pix are much better than people trying to be Initial D wannabees. Owen

Their is no way a car that is driven every day could look that good. Unless they just got painted and he put them in their.
Forrest
Here is one that gets driven every day: That's my little brother's car, and man - magnesium rs watanabe wheels are LIGHT!
Hugh
I think its hilarious that car that was worth like $50-500 only two or three years ago is now worth like $3000-4000! Freaking Initial D cartoon making Japanese people think the Hachi Roku is the #1 drift master... and then Americans following suit several years later. I remember my friend owned one of those piles of crap like ten years ago, and it was the worst car any of us had driven. That same car is probably getting drifted somewhere now. Oh, but love the cars in the pics, nice stuff.

Actually im not sure if its the same guy or not, I need to contact him and see if its really him, But Ive never seen those rims outside my garage...until now.....regardless I love the old school, to me its the only school to be in. slownrusty
Glad you guys like the pics and the thread. Would you believe I just had my AE86 appraised for $15,000! I wil take all the Initial D hype I can if thats what it does for the value of my car! Yasin

Guest Magnum Rockwilder
They're all tacky shitboxes. You don't see the domestic guys fixing up Pintos and Chevette's and trailering them to car shows.

Guest Z2nr
Is that a turbo 4age 20v silvertop motor, haven't really seen those turbo'd too often, how much power are you putting down man, seems like an interesting setup. That turbo looks huge it must take forever to spool up that think your 1.6l!!

Guest Magnum Rockwilder
The Z was inspired by the designs of the Jaguar XKE, Porsche 911, and Toyota 2000GT, among other classic, timeless sports cars... whereas, those cars were obviously styled after kitchen appliances, and could have very well been designed by 1st graders using a ruler to learn how to make straight lines for the first time. "Old" and "classic" are NOT synonymous. Sure, everyone has different tastes, but there are steadfast rules of design relating to rhythm, line, space, contour, pattern, shape, unity, similarity, and contrast... and those cars ignored them all and were built in the name of utility, not style. Exactly, thank you. EDIT: Maybe I should clarify my view... I think those are sweet cars, but the ones with out curves and windows that don't have the right aspect ratio, they are not my exact cup tea. I don’t want a boney woman, nor do I want a chiseled one, so I don’t want my car to look too boney or too chiseled
slownrusty
Hey Magnum Rockwilder - the only thing around here that is remotely close to a first grader is your pathetic attitude. I have little to no time for your level of ignorance....post some pics of your Z and let us judge it jack. Z2NR - Yes that is a turbocharged 20V 4AG, I believe I have one of the few turbo 20V in a street driven AE86 in the U.S. I just laid down 217wheel hp at only 7psi, car is VERY quick. It is very soft on the low end, but once the T3T4 kicks in at around 2800rpm, it gets VERY interesting VERY quickly. The engine has been fully rebuilt with all the good internals and I am waiting to hit 1000miles before I turn the boost up, I am looking for 275-300wheel hp on pump gas. Build time was over 2years. Car is running a Supra rear end and Supra tranny, as I split the stock Corolla rear end on the 4th dyno pull. Yasin
