What to do with bump where bumper used to be?

I laid some fiberglass in the "bump" and made a filler piece tonight. I still have some work to do, but it may work out. The end still needs to be closed in and it needs to be sanded to fit better. It will attach with screws from the inside of the fender or double stick tape or both and will be painted the same color as the body.

Comments please.

BWRex, I don't want to steal jbc3's thread...here's a link to a post about my wheels: Wheels Installed and Post # 52 (The day I recieved them) . PM me and I'll be more than happy to answer any questions.

jbc3,

That looks good! I, too, would definately like to see the progress on your project. What did you use to create the shape?

metallicar,

The grill looks nice... Do you have some sort of ducting on the driver side?

I covered the area with masking tape and laid 3 layers of fiberglass on the car making the back half shape. I pulled it right off of the car and I cut and trimmed it to the edge of the indentation. Then I made a flat 3 layer piece of fiberglass (boards and wax paper). Then I cut the flat piece to the right size and then fiberglassed it to the back. I am not a body guy at all and there may be better ways using foam and vaccum bagging.... but sometimes you use what you have.

Can't see it too well, and I am too lazy to upload more photos, but used regular diamond shape expanded mesh from Home Depot....I think they use it for a base to stucco houses....cheap, shiney and very easy to work with:

I used some old OEM Z fuel line as a frame to attach the mesh to:
