tfreer85
Well if you wanted to do it there is a company called http://www.renegadehybrids.com/main.htm I almost did a conversion in a 914 back in high school Tyson

BayAreaZT
Check out renegade hybrids new kit. EJ25T swap for the 914. Pretty sweet. http://www.renegadehybrids.com/turbo914/914subaru.html
crazy280
A 914 with a WRX STI engine would be pretty damn fast! 300 horsepower stock, and extremely low and light engine. I also like the kit Renegade Hybrids has for the 944. I always liked the 944.
Sparks280zt
i had a 944t, awesome little car. But Im sure an ls1 944 would be even better.
b__sosick
SCREW THAT i want to see an ej25 powered z! damnit! haha
crazy280
Yeah, 400 horses in a 944 would be fun. The LS1 probably doesn't weigh any more than the big turbo 4 that came in the car originally, so its a win-win. Plus you never have to pay out the @ss for porsche engine parts again! That's what kept me from buying a 944, even though they're so cool. Too expensive to maintain
Sparks280zt
YES! A nightmare to maintain, why do you think I sold it.
datsunlover
Yah, I was thinking of doing a renegade V8 conversion to a 924 a few years back.. Had a line on one with a dead motor for $600, but I made the mistake of telling the seller what I was planing. He got a little upset and wouldn't sell me the car. Oh well.. I built a V8 RX7 instead... I've always wanted a V8 914 though.. maybe in a few years..
olie05
944 + ls1 + t-56 + stock transaxle... more gears than an 18 wheeler!!
Guest ON3GO
i got a 928S at the shop that ill be putting in a LS1 from a C5 vette, along with the tranny. goal for me is to get it all in and etc, but the main goal is a twin turbo setup and for the car to compete in the unlimited class in SCCA. mike
