well what year turbo z are you going to be usuing. Im pretty sure none of them require 93 octane not even the 350z, and if the car is set up to run on 89 octane i think you suffer when jumping to 93 with out timing changes, im not sure but i believe this is true because the 93 octane gas takes longer to burn then the 89.

Perhaps I'm confused. Are you referring to any turbocharged car (stock boost and modified boost levels) or are you only referring to turbocharged cars with higher than stock boost levels?

 

My WRX is bone stock... and will ping and retard on a warm day. Pre-ignition (detonation) is most definately related to engine load AND fuel octane rating.
