speeder
Funny thing about examining carnage like that... Horrifying and fascinating at the same time. Sux that it happened though.
Garrett76Zt
Yeah it sucks, no big deal though. I'll have to build something wickeder this time and not let it blow up. HAHA New compressor wheel should be here tomorrow, and I'll get the car to the track to get some numbers. Oughta be able to beat my old 1/4 mile time. rudypoochris
How much do you need to overbore to fix the cylinder wall... seems like a chunk would be missing.
GHtokyo
Hey, Check to see if Ross will make less than 4 pistons at a time. That was their requirement when I bought pistons a few months ago. Good luck.
Garrett76Zt
Good news!! The piston is repairable . . . I just need to replace a 240z connecting rod. That one was discolored from heat. Got a local qoute to hot-tank, bore (.080 over), and check line-bore = $265 Didnt think that was bad at all. So anyone got a L24 rod? Guest 73Turbo240z
i have a question, if you have the piston, and it's in saveable shape, but your boring out to fix the cyl wall scoring, how do you plan on it snugging up again? different size piston rings to make up the gap? No way can rings be resized to fill a gap, that piston will get slapped silly in an oversized bore. Sorry to hear of the destruction Garrett. Fit a cold air intake, eh?
