v80z
Well the rear disc is done and I was bleeding the brakes tonight. I have a tilton bias knob on this system. The rear brakes grab fine. The fronts are not clamping very much. Pedal is spongy indicate air in the line. 1. How much fluid do I need to go through before I can consider the lines and pistons full? 2. On a bias knob all the way in is what? full rear or full front? 3. After bleeding with alot of air bubbles coming out and then full fluid streams on all four corners the pedal still feels spongy and goes to the floor. Any ideas? Thanks !!! Synlubes
Turning the pro valve to the left (or in) should be reducing pressure to the rears. Check all lines and fitting to make sure all are correctly seated and tight. Always start your brake bleeding at the master cly. Then the caliper farthest from the master cly, etc. In your case, Master - rt frt - left frt / rt rear - left rear I usally flush a quart of fluid thru for each bleed. If this doesn`t work, possible bad master cly???
2003z
its simple, but common. If you took the brakes off, make sure they are on the correct side. Bleed nuts above the fluid line.
DaleMX
Ok, here goes the reaction disk question. Does the pedal feel kinda firm with out the engine running, but with it on it just goes to the floor? This seems to be the symptom of the reaction disk. v80z
Dude You were spot on. I havent switched them yet but when I looked at them, the front toyota calipers, the bleed screw is below the line. I will switch them soon. clarkspeed
Above posts are correct. Bias knob reduces pressure to rear. Pedal should "hold firm" when air is out.

It took a brake shop about an hour to figure it out when I gave up and took them somewhere on my old Z. Now that I powdercoat brake calipers, I have had several customers do the same, so I just warn them up front about it.
v80z
Mike 2003z Yep that was exactly it. Switched the calipers last night and everything is tight. bleeds above brake lines. Thanks
