bradz240
I have a 83zx with a leaking heater control valve I want to replace. My question is what is auto air? Is that the cars with digital dash? There are apparently two version of the heater control valve one for automatic air and one for manual air. I think I have manual air but I'm not sure how to tell. Help Please! Thanks, Brad
green260z
I had an 83 280zx I belive the difference was that one is vaccum operated and one is lever operated. It took me 4 cars at the j/y to find the correct one. Hope that helps
Cruez
I believe that the auto air is like what is in your house. You set the temp you want and the fan and valve will automatically adjust to keep that temperature. I think it only came on the digital dash versions... turbobluestreak
Actually the auto air cam in analog gages as well, because my 81 turbo and 80 non-turbo both had auto air and with analog gages. You should pick up a factory service manual mine is going to be very helpful when I refurbish my auto air this winter. tbs

(goldfish)
The auto air has a slider w/ temp markings on it, i.e. 60 deg. 70 deg.
bradz240
Thanks goldfish! Mine doesn't have any degree markings, just cold to hot. So it's manual, that's what I thought. Brad
