FEnatic
Found one of those caps in the junkyard last weekend, are they found only on certain models or just common? I've only seen them on e-bay, and they said JDM only, any info? Thanks
olie05
it was to commemorate the rally wins of datsun... or something like that... Don't know if it came on cars stock or not. heres another ebay action... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-510-521-620-610-710-240Z-260Z-Safari-Oil-Cap_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33622QQitemZ8029970143QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

preith
It is neat, but seems a bit odd to me too. Why the oil cap of all places? With that said, maybe I'll have to get one...
Administrators BRAAP Posted January 18, 2006 Administrators Share Posted January 18, 2006 Phil, do you really want one of those Elephant caps? I'll send one with your super-whiz-bang-fire-snortin cyl head. It’s got a little bit dirt stain on it, but hey, it’s free, right? Looks pretty good on your valve cover as well. FEnatic
I was surprised to see it on there. It was a 75 280, I was looking for one of those non egr N42's and saw that oil cap on it. Right into the pocket it went! Something different anyway.

Tony D
it was to commemorate the rally wins of datsun... or something like that... That guy is SMOKING something on that auction! That is a simple run-of-the-mill available on every car in Japan Nissan Oil Cap! "Commerate the Safari Wins in 1969" OH MAN, THAT'S RICH! HAW HAW HAW! The Elephant is a "Service Symbol" in Nissan Literature, and is on the Nissan-Branded Oil they sold at the service bays, also. That is so full of it, it's ludicrous! Man, that guy gave me my laugh today! No, it's nothing special, it's just a JDM oil cap. Nothing "commerative" about it at all!
