nazar
Tires will be 275/40/17 in the rear, 265/40/17 in the front. Possibly a backspacing with stock strut assemblies and not coilovers. I figured i can push them far out enough to clear the stock perch with ZG flares being that its only a 9.5" wheel Please help me out guys, I gotta place the order. I was thinking something like 4.5 rear, 4.75 front?????
nazar
and also possibly a backspacing if i were to go coilovers? I want to be able to tuck the 275 rubber inside the ZG flare under compression so maybe i'll need to go coilover.
t-tom
-19 rear and -16 front is the offset that ccw told me. With Zg's and 17 x 9.5 wheels
J__
lol i have 15x8 -31 offset front and back..... still dunno what it's goin to look like haha. but ive got a feeling how it's goin to handel though *cry*
turbo_fb
Think the best idea would be to temp mount the flares and make a messure to get the best offset. I am gonna try to get 17x10 with coilovers and zg flares.
nazar
-19 on a 9.5" wheel is only 4.5" backspacing, seems like it wouldnt stick out far enough to fill the ZG fenders, seems like it would need more like a 4" backspacing to push the tires further out to fill the bigger zg fenders I know people are running 4" backspacing on a 8" wheel in stock fenders
t-tom
Thats just what John @ CCW told me for my fairlady. Stock suspension and Zg's
zguitar71
275 on a -19 wheel will have a front space of 6.16" and a 9.5 wheel will have a front space of 5.99". Both of those measurements are past to fender on a stock Z and close to the edge of a zg flare. The flares are supposed to give about 1.5"-2" of extra clearence wich is about right where the set up you are looking at is. My race tires are the = to a 265 section tire and they are mounted on -12 offset wheels, they over 1" past the outside of the fenders. fastzcars
Well according to my math, a -19 mm offset wheel at 9.5 in wide rim should be 4.5 in backspace. That should push the wheel out 2 inchs from the rear fender. That sounds about right, although your pushing the limits if the ZG flares only go 1.5 in. I think 4.5 in B/S is the limit for a stock coiled suspension.
nazar
so maybe go coilvers and do 4.75-5" BS? I want the rear tires to tuck under the flares when compressed since the car will sit fairly low, that should only make the wheel stick out 1.5" or so
fastzcars
You should check out mikes "The Hulk" He's got some great pictures of his car before and after the ZG flares. The Hulk . If I were you I would getthe flares first. thentest fit them on your car, then measure just to make sure. Like they say " Measure twice,Cut once". SR240Z
we have ZG flares on our car with 16x9.5 with -19 offset out back and the lip of the rim almost makes it to the edge of the flare and we wouldnt be able to run a 275 tire with the car being as low as it sits
Guest JAMIE T
My 18 x 9.5" (265/35/18 tires) wheels have a 5.5" backspace. Call it what you want in offset... They sit perfectly in the front ZG flare. I haven't tried the rear (275/35/18 tires) yet. I tried the wheel only without a tire on the back of Mikelly's car at one of his shindigs and it was a clean fit that set near perfectly in the ZG wheel well. Could have probably used a 1/2" spacer, but it still looked great. Both are with coilovers obviously.
