alright, took a small trip in the ole z today, moving it to a garage to pull the motor.

sounds easy doesn't it?

WRONG!

rollin down the road, i race a friend of mine in his bolt on sti. nifty, door to door till 120. nothing big here.

about 3 miles up the road, i see a squirt of oil hit the windshield.

hmm, great

get to where im goin, the whole passenger side of the block is covered in oil!

source, valve cover gasket, BRAND NEW FELPRO 14 dollar sucker too.

the car must know something i don't, hell the cork gaskets didn't leak this much, just the occasional dribble.

oh well, time to pull it

Been banging on my car all day. I feel your pain.

errr.

I should ask....are you going back to cork? What's the best material for these things that haunt our minds and pocketbooks? In all my previous experience, a properly applied cork gasket works.

Thanks! My 80 280 says hello...poor thing has a wrinkled face from the previous owner.

I experienced that once with a plugged valve cover breather. If yours is a K & N it might need a cleaning.

i can see that, after 2 years of not being cleaned and never removed. yea, sounds logical.

motor is commin out next weekend so im not worried about it
