Update on my turbo project:

S30TRBO

Recommended Posts

Well I just got bad news as I thought I was picking the motor up from the machine shop tomorrow. He was assembling the Ross pistons and Pauter rods and ran into a problem. The rods are .100 inch too wide on the piston end so they need to be machined. My machinist called Pauter and they said they do that so aftermarket pistons will accept the rod. I was like WHAT it has been almost a freaking year and it came down to this ARGHHHHHH. So it will be another 1-2 days to have that taken off.

Anyone ran into this before?

Other than that the R200 3.9 clutch I got from Stony is ready to go in so I guess I won't be making Z days for the break in.... damn damn...

  • 5 months later...

Year and a half later (don't ask) I picked the block, crank, oil pan and my L28ET rods (for sale in classifieds). The block and pan were painted Nissan blue. I pan was modified to fit my Blitz oil temp sensor in the same spot where the stock one was.

I am waiting on my Ferrara valves to come in so he can do the valve job and get the head back to me. Also he is assembling my Ross pistons to the Pauter rods. Here are some pics I took in the garage today. I didn't want to take all the engine bags off.

Whooo Hooo!!!!!

Patience is truly a virtue, especially when it comes to something that you work on so hard that seems like an eternity to accomplish.

the day your Z runs and you can drive her, I'm sure it will put a smile on ya from ear to ear.

Everytime my car has some upgrade done or a problem I gotta fix and there is some down time, whether it's a day of labor or a few months... as soon as she is fixed I got a fat smile knowing I can just get away in my Z once again.

Your day to unleash your monster is coming soon... just breathe and enjoy it!

Looking good. You're gonna be grinning ear to ear when that baby is done.

I'm hoping to start my rebuild soon. Did you get the Ross pistons from Summit? I'll be shopping a round for pistons soon.

nah I ordered through my machinist he called Ross directly. Same thing on the Pauter Rods. Thanks man!!

Joe I emailed me about your rods in the classifieds - did you receive it?

Regards - Yasin

Yasin,

You emailed yourself?? Of course I didn't get it. :)

Seriously, I didn't receive anything to my yahoo.

Try it direct a240ztt@yahoo.com or PM me. Check and see if you reply to the classified thread if that works. I remember reading someone was having problems.

Joe
