Oil gallery pluging

I knocked out the oil gallery plugs and tapped the holes prior to the trip to the maching shop. I was looking at my How to Rebuild book and it said to epoxy the new pipe plugs in place to prevent leaks. Epoxy? Really? I would have guessed a little teflon sealant but I would hate to have oil leaking out of the back of the block. What have you guys used? Epoxy seems like it would make removal of these threaded pipe plugs really tricky for future rebuilds - not that I am planning on rebuilding this engine again...

Thanks

I don't have my book in front of me but I believe the whole idea of doing this mod was to eliminate the possibility if the original plugs from accidently popping out and losing oil pressure. There should be no reason to take these plugs back out so why not epoxy them in.

The reason for removing them is to have access to the oil galleys for cleaning purposes...

I have used two part epoxy, and I've used JB weld. I just shaved the plug down enough to where once screwed in, it left a slight indent to use for filling in with the epox or whatever you end up using.

I didn't put it on the threads, just filled in the outer exposed indent.

Hope this makes sense...

PST was what I was thinking originally, and honestly what I was wanting to use. It is always the way that as soon as I epoxy somthing in place I need to remove it again. Just did not want to see leaks, if PST works PST it is.

Thanks
