Suggestions for new daily driver

Wheelman, Forget the MR2... Noisy as heck, and the seats are junks... We had one for my stepson and the interior noise was absolutely unreal on interstates... It was a very good handling and braking car, but the noise and the seat bolster metal supports made it a bad choice for any kind of driving beyond around town...

Loved our 95Mustang, and kick myself now for selling it... They handle well, have tons of cheap hop up parts, get decent mileage (24-26mpg in our modified 5.0 GT) and have good styling...

The IS300 is a nice ride for sure, but I don't think you'll get one for less than $12000-14000 and that would be for a used and abused model...

UHhuh, Mike C... I have one for my wife and I'm actually considering buying another one as a daily driver until I decide what I'll buy to replace the Vette... I'm a confirmed convert of the E36...Amazing and capable little car...

my girlfriend just traded in her 2000 maxima with 90k miles on it for a 2006 honda accord v6 coupe.she only got $6900 for the trade in.the maxima was lighting the check engine light for a weak cat convertor and she didnt want to fix it.but the maxima seemed faster than the accord even though the accord seems like a lighter car.the maxima would run out to 130 mph and cruised easy at 100mph.usually got about 28 mpg on the freeway at 75.kind of like a japanese 5 series bmw.i would have bought it but there was a bank loan involved on it.
I've got to second the suggestion to look at a Maxima. I've got a '98 SE with a 5-speed that I absolutely love. A good, used one is in your budget. It has plenty of power to get off the line in a hurry and down the road (225 hp). It's smooth and predictable even at tripple digit speeds (which it will easily cruise at - I do it often between the Tri-Cities and Portland). It handles very well and is very comfortable. I bought it in 2001 with 20k miles on it. It now has over 100k miles on it and it hasn't lost a step. I've only had to replace the alternator in over 80k miles. I love this car so much, I will drive it until it dies. Mileage, of course, depends on your right foot. :rolleyesg

Well,

I went ahead and picked up that 93 Mustang convertable. Got it for $4500.00. It's an LX with the HO 5.0 and an automatic, 64,539 original miles (have the carfax to verifiy).

I sure hope I'll be happy with it, I really struggle with trading money for stuff, especially large purchases. One thing I already plan to change is the exhaut system. The PO had a dual system installed with no X-pipe or cross-over and flow-master mufflers. It's a bit to loud and I think I'll put the cats back in.

I mis-spoke when I listed the Lexus IS300, I really meant ES300, saw a 1995 advertised for $5000.00 locally. If it weren't for the fact that the office b*tch owns one with the exact same color scheme I would have considered it.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.
