My turn for exhaust sounds

Recommended Posts

This was sitting in my driveway, no acceleration here. I had my video camera sitting just to the right of the dual tail pipes.

The engine is a GEN 1 350. I don't know the cam specs of this engine, wish I did. Running a 725 Holley and stock Chevy ramshorn manifold to 2 1/4" pipes through twin turbo mufflers.

Not bad!!!

It has that dont dare jack with me lope.

I'll bet if a ricer pulled up next to you' date=' he would roll up the window!

If I may ask? Why did you go with 2 1/4 verses 2 1/2?

Header match?[/quote']

I'm not running headers and the way the manifolds sit with the Scarab setup there just wasn't room for bigger pipes. I'm getting ready to switch to a LT1 and JTR so a lot of this may all change. But I spent a fortune on this exhaust so I hate to just dump it.

Did you have the system done at a shop?.

Yep, I don't have a welder or have never welded anything. I have an eye issue that prevents me from doing that. A problem attempting to do a lot in this hobby. There is a really good custom muffler shop very close so I had it towed over there to have the work done. When I got the car the exhaust exited in front of the rear wheels. Very noisey and the fumes were a bit much.

Hey, it sounds similar to my car.

The other night my wife and daughter were watching the movie "Chrisitine", and I started my car up shortly thereafter. When I came upstairs they just looked at me and told me my car sounds exactly like the car from the movie. :eek2:

My daughter is still a little scared to ride in my car now.:lmao:

LOL, I was at the local performance garage the other day talking about my wheel disc brake/suspension conversion issues. I told the tech I think my car is Chrisitine in Japanese clothing.

I just stumbled on to the V8 section of this site after wandering here looking for L28 information for my upcoming '69 - 72 Nissan Skyline. Looksl ike they have a similarly sized engine bay to the 280Z... (scratches head)... hmmmm....

Man these V8 powered 280Zs make me giggle. I mean like full schoolboy giggle. LOVE the sound!

LOL, yeah there is nothing like big cubes in a lite car. There are some scary fast cars on this board too.

NO clue if you could stuff a V8 in a Skyline, I've never even seen one of those.

This is what the '69 - 72 Skyline looks like. I need to contact one of the guys I know with one to take some measurements for me.

I also included a shot of the car with an L28 in it.

That is different for sure. If it has a L28 and you have enough width it just might work. BTW ya got cool wheels.

That's not mine... the car on the left is owned by a guy in San Diego. It has the RB26DETT in it. ...the wheels are tasty though!

Hmm... if I can fit in a Z car I might just go that route instead. Picking up a Skyline is going to be like 10-15K at least!
