v8wannabe2
Here's an update, almost fininshed the NOS and the fuel cell. I carved up some 3/4 round rod in the lathe and welded a small nut on top for the handles, coat hangers for the lines (couldn't resist flaming the tanks). On left side of the last pic is a sneak preview of the steering wheel. Enjoy
mario_82_ZXT
This thing is just so awesome! Mario
OlderThanMe
just if it ran... you could machine little gears and pistons and a little crankshaft...and little spark plugs... Anyway that car is AWESOME!!!
v8wannabe2
Here's the latest update. I finished up the exhaust pipes, mounted the fuel cell, finished the steering wheel added gas/brake/clutch pedals. That yellow thing is the Optima battery. Car measures 28" L X 12" W. The paint took a beating, so it looks like I'll be doing that again, may change the color.
Poundz9oh9
man..... I wish I had that much spare time to work on my actual Z, let alone play with toys. VERY Cool work though!!!!
v8wannabe2
Some people golf, I play in my garage. I've run out of ideas for new additions for the Wire Z, so for now I'll consider it done. Here's a pic of a non Z project I'm working on. jimbob_racing
WOW! That's awesome. I'd love to get the bird from you.
v8wannabe2
Thanks Jimbob, here's a few more recent pics of the eagle. Up to about 200 feathers now, only 80 more to go. I may consider selling it, but keep in mind I have a crazy amount of hours into it.
MJLamberson
you got skills man, you could probably sell that Z for more then I paid for my real s30...
Administrators BRAAP Posted December 17, 2007 Administrators Share Posted December 17, 2007 WOW! Incredible work and the attention to detail is phenomenal! Nice work, thank you for sharing.
v8wannabe2
Thanks guys, just to make the thread legitimate, here's a pic of it in front of my 76 Z
zeeboost
Either you don't drive the Z any more, or you picked up a nail in the left rear tire Awesome, awesome, awesome detail on that bird. I could work on something like that my entire life and it wouldn't come out half as good. You have true skills!
jbk240z
The bird is very, very, nice indeed! However, the wire Z is incredible! Since you have run out of ideas for the Z, maybe you should pass it on to a fellow HybridZ member, hint, hint, hint!!!

v8wannabe2
thats gonna be quite the hood onament.... Good idea, if I angle the wings correctly I could get some extra downward pressure on the front wheels. Actually here's a pic of the hood ornament I made for my brother in law's Peterbilt
m4xwellmurd3r
man, that wire z is turning out NICE http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2006/10/13/mystery-beetle-identified/ i looked up that wire bug, and found this one. I think a VW is one of the only cars you can do that too, since the body really only holds the lights, fuel tank, gauges, and support for the steering column. you can (in theory) drive the pan around, with seats and all. lammbn
i saw your eagle and it reminded me of this that i saw a while ago, i really like art like this. its from a guy that runs a paintball web comic that you pretty much have to play to understand. i have waaayyyy to much invested in my paintball gear (I'm a little bit of an adreline junkie.) but anyways here is my favorite veiw of it. you can find the rest of his pictures of it at http://www.docsmachine.com/rage/index.html at the bottom he has a explanation of what it took to make it. it's pretty impressive, i have a lot of respect for people that can do this kind of stuff. v8wannabe2
Thanks for the pic and the link, that is very cool. There's a casino in Calgary that has a big horse out front that is made from chrome car bumpers, similar idea as the wolf. Really neat effect. Thanks for the idea.
