Guest Mike
Ya' gotta' admit that this is much cheaper than a new GTO... and it will kick the crap out of the GTO too:biggrin:

VinhZXT
That's the reason why I keep dumping money into my Z project. That is also why my friend is willing to pay 20K to finish up his Cobra.
Guest Mike
I like the Cobra's too. Very sexy cars... nice "broad" hips and substantial front fenders:wink:
ULISES
I havent had the chance to add all my receips,I throw away the small ones though and they do add up quikly too.The good thing is that you forget all about them when you start driving the car. Dont even think your going to stop when you finish your swap......Tomorrow I will have my TB and Intake Manifold ported (Hopefully).
dr_hunt
If I added up the receipts, I could probably put a dent in the national debt. For the Monte alone over the last 13 years or so, which doesn't count the original 305, the 350, and the three 400sbc's that I have run in the car or the th400 I took out. When I bought the car it had 16K original miles on it. Now it has 212,000 350 long block $4000 Parts I had GB turbo kit $3700 C&S carb $1150 SS exhaust $1000 Converter $700 PG trans $1000 Incidentals $600 MSD 6BTM $400 2 step $100 Paint $6000 Car $6000 Wheels $1000 Moser 9 inch $2400 Driveline $300 Roll Cage $700 Interior $1000 Alum Rad $350 Fuel system $800 So, thats about $31K! So quit your whining, cause we see the pearly whites shining in the background! And yes it'll spank the new GTO as well, along with about any other production car. cygnusx1
Receipts? We don't need no stinkin' receipts!! The only papers that matter are the dyno sheet and 1/4mile sheets. Everything else is kindling, or landfill.
Twoeightnine
Yep. The wife says "make sure you keep your receipts so you will know how much your spending". "That way if you start spending too much, you will know to stop". Uhh...ok dear.... I keep my receipts at work.
Guest Mike
Receipts have but two uses... 1) makes us feel guilty, 2) evidence for the wife to make us feel guilty.
hotimport
I figure somewhere about 15K to get the RB26 rolling and then another 5K to put it where it needs to be. So you guys not the only one...
cygnusx1
L28ET is the bottom of the barrel budget swap. However, it is barely considered a HybridZ because it is sooo easy. Yes, it will get expensive also if you get greedy with your RWHP, and who won't eventually, but up front it is cheap.
Guest Mike
Initially cheap... Yeah, so is a SBC swap (used motor/tranny). But then come the upgrades:wink:

tfreer85
I'm around 13k into my swap and have around another 3-6k to go. Not including tools that I'll buy, eh oh well. Money well spent when pulling up next to any production car.

Doesn't have leather, but has A/C, cruise, tilt, PW, PB, and alpine stereo though. Oh, no back seat, the roll cage had to tie into a cross memeber back there so it was ditched.
