auxilary
Bullit style rims on a Z
fl327
looks cool, thats a mockup right? really cool with the BLACK paint. but i associate those rims with fords, so you know, playa like me cant run, looks tough though, very tough. Dan Juday
Eh, not my cup of tea. But I'm an old guy. Reminds me of some cheap Cragers and a can of spray paint. Must be a mockup though. Otherwise the back spacing would be, what, about a foot and a half?
jeromio
I see what you're goin' for there - the Mustang rims on the Z. I do like those rims. Guy at work has a new Gt with those. I think they would look quite nice on a Z. Of course, you'd have to convert to 5 lug hubs and brakes and use coil overs (I'm assuming they're 17X8). auxilary
I just did a quick 5 min photochop on my Z with the bullit rims, and I think they're pretty decent. Now it's just a task of finding someone who makes cheap 4 lug knockoffs everyone around here is running with panasports, I feel like being original! DavyZ
I'm a little undecided about them. I don't think they look bad at all, but the effect will be much better with the actual 16" or 17" rim on there with a lowered chassis--not that I can see, especially with a black Z (the Bullitt Z). I will eventually go with a 5 lug conversion and big brakes, but I'll stick to the Cobra rims at first. Those tuner rims get waaay up there in $$$$, especially with tires... Guest Thurem
Dig it. This is actually, what I'm planning on doing in the future, kind of looks like the AR's fourspoke that where big in the day. I called the outfit that sells them in one of the mags, they have them in 38 and 24 mm offset, if memory serves me correctly. Close to perfect for a 5-lug conversion. About 600 for a set of 16 and 700 for a set of 17. Thure
pparaska
Just my opinion, but they look too "non-dish" to me. I'm an old guy, showing my age I guess.
Guest Anonymous
I like the look of them with five spoke but I personally think they look inferior in the four spoke model. I treid to get a set of these a while back but couldn't figure out what size offset I needed to make them work. My tire shop was no help and wheel offset is something I know nothing about. jake
Drax240z
I think the non-dish is just because its been treated like a 2D image when pasting the bullit style wheels onto the pic. I think it will look really good with proper offset dished wheels.

RPMS
I think they would look great on a Z! I like the looks of those rims - the thick black spokes suggest strength, and only having five of them hints at light weight (I'm not sure if either are true, but it sounds good!) Do it! auxilary
I think some of you guys are seeing these as 2D rims, without bulging out. Here's the actual rim I resized and photoshopped in. and in silver Think Steve McQueen 1968 GT Fastback
Guest Anonymous
Retro wheels.. American made those things years ago (still do), this was before the movie and they ever ended up on a mustang making them 'bullits' In the early 60's those style, cragar SS chrome 5 spoke and aluminum slots were the $hit as they say. Of course they were 14-15's and not the larger wheels some like today. End of history lesson, Lone
Owen
Too "volkswagon-ish" for me, not deep enough either. Owen
pparaska
YEs, that was the problem - 2D. I like! I've actually been saying to myself that a Bullit Mustang wouldn't be too bad for a daily driver .
BLKMGK
Pete wait and see if they make the Mach 1 before getting excited about the Bullit. Bullit is a SOHC GT engine with a different intake (aluminum instead of plastic), wheels, and a little more power. Interior trim is slightly different too I believe. The Mach 1 - if it gets made - will be a DOHC 4.6 "not a Cobra" with a shaker hood scoop, retro seats, and a solid rear axle. Power will be slightly lower than the Cobra but higher than the GT and Bullit. Bullit is supposedly underrated powerwise BTW but having not seen an actual dyno run I'm witholding judgement. The Bullit is supposed to be prety darned HEAVY too. Heck, I know one Cobra convertible (w/cage) that tipped the scales at nearly 4Klbs! Good thing it's making 650+RWHP Thread content: What would you do for center caps? I'm not sure you'd want the ponies I don't think you'll find them in 4lug since one lug would have to pierce a spoke. Even if you converted to 5lug backspacing might be an issue. Find out the exact size and backspacing and I might be able to tell you if it'll fit.
z ya
I have those on my wifes 01 stang gt. They look way cool rolling or just sitting still.
