zgeezer
Did all 300 turbo LSDs come with the finned aluminum inspection cover? I've located a 300 turbo with manual transmission, w/o wheels, sitting on the ground in my local pick a part. Standard steel inspection cover, but the label on the door states this is a 1987 vehicle. Is there any VIN code that would tell me if this has the LSD. This car is right ON and IN the muck: there is no way I can turn a wheel without digging it out and having it lifted with a fork lift. Is it likely to worth the effort. g
rudypoochris
87 300zxt's before the 5th month of the year (May) I believe, did not come with LSD's. Remove the cover to be sure.
evildky
it should have the finned cover if it's the stock LSD als verify the vin starte JN1CZ that C means it's a turbomodel and not just a car someone swapped
Gollum
in my experience anything that's POSSIBLY a R200 CLSD is worth the effort. Go find out if it's LSD, and pull it if it is. Even if you don't have a use for it. If it's LSD it will have the finned cover, and i've personally never seen a non LSD with a finned cover (though i'm not saying they're not out there). Once it's out just crack it open and take a look-see.

Benedict
only 87 turbos made after 04/87 had LSD from the factory only LSD's had the finned cover but of course buyer beware... also note... the 88 SS model came with a VLSD and unique half shafts similar to those found in the S-chassis, Z32, etc...
