Collectindust240Z
What do you guys think? I've found a clean '82 Maxima for sale cheap. Should I buy it? It's pretty ugly, but I dig ugly cars.

veritech-z
If you could find one of those old school body kits, you'd be the king of the streets. L28et for the win! (I know this isn't a maxima, but it looks pretty close)
Collectindust240Z
That would be cool as s**t!! Now I HAVE to buy it! How 'bout a RB or a small block chevy (not very JDM, but nasty)

OlderThanMe
Yeah 2003z and I thought about that when we were pulling my maxima head from the wagon...it already has a solid axle(easily swapped out to a ford 8.8 or whatever, L28ET would be a straight bolt in affair, total sleeper! How an LD28ET??? running on biodiesel?
tcufrogz76
Yeah yeah!!! drop a turbo motor off in it and laugh as Civic owners try to figure out why that crappy 4 door car just wasted them.. I had an '84 Max for like a month years ago.. it wasnt bad at all.. it sucked as far as looks but was pretty damned comfy and quiet to drive! slownrusty
That VIP car posted by Veritech is a mid '80s Toyota Crown SuperSaloon most of them came with the 5ME or 5MG-E engine. The MAXI is much older but same level of sick ass ole skooool....here is the Daddy....by the way a L28 turbo swap has been done a few times if you visit the big Maxima forum (I forget the URL). GrayZee
If you are thinking of putting a L28 in one, be aware that the block has to be modified to accept a rearward mounted Z sump and pan.

I thought the L28 was rear sumped? I would say, just turbo the LD (turbo plus desiel = good for air and economy, that would be my excuse anyways ) and cam it. It would a nasty little desiel car.
