zdream
now lowered! ITS TOGETHER AND STARTS AGAIN! Sounds tuff with the new exhaust manifolds, and exhaust (3.5 inch half the way then 3 inch ) ]these are shots taken under the car at the rear, you can see the bottom of the fuel tank, the fuel pumps ect. You can see the bushes on the srung steel bar holding the diff are aluminum, the diff twisting under take off would mash the bushes, so turning up new ones to make it solid was the only way to beat the problem. zdream
The motor is has returned, all pumped up and ready to go,missing Summernats but ready for power cruise. Manifolds have been coated, heads ported ect, ect.HOW TUFF DOES IT LOOK! I FEEL AS IF i HAVE SWALLOWED A BOTTLE OF VIAGRA PILLS WHEN I SET MY EYES UPON IT R B's who P.S note the intercooler on the front of the mistu, just can leave anything untouched. you are going to want one of these! full aluminum center consol,REAL RACE, BUILT TO KEEP THE WEIGHT DOWN
zdream
Here are the roll bars and some of the chassis strenghting, the last photo shows were the spare wheel now is mounted,on the post The dump pipe was 75mm in dia" with a very tight bend off the back of the turbo due to space problems. Never did like this! Managed to fit 90mm and keep the pipe much straighter this time, now Im happy! It contiunes to half way down the car were it becomes 75mm once more, it is this way until I find out if going 90mm alll the way will make more power. The dyno will tell! The pipe will be coated the same as the headers soon.75mm to 90mm does'nt sound much, but place them together and there is a lot of size difference. zdream
[/iDyno day, and the first session was let down by seized injectors,Lesson learnt, flow the injectors before fitting. Now with the injectors fixed session two on the dyno was called to a holt due to the 32mm wastegate being to small for the job.Once big boost and big rev's was in play the wastegate struggled and the tuning had to stop. Now in place of the turbonetics wastegate is a tial 44mm waste gate. So once again Back to the dyno for session 3,so far the car made 320hp on 5psi boost and 470hp on 20psi. There is still a day of tuning in the car but starting to sweat with powercruise on this coming weekend. You can see the size of the two wastegates are not much different, but the valves sizes are big in differance.the last pic's show the wastegate in place with new manifold and screamer pipe. You can see in this shot the much smoother flowing bend in the new screamer pipe.
zdream
2nd place at powercruise Sydney 2007 6 cyd blown class. This is my 3rd run which placed me in the final. The first two runs only produced 466hp due to fuel problems. After much stress and some time to think, I returned to post this run. this is my final run which scored me second place, beaten by a VL commy with a RB 30 at 590hp ( he used NOS to post this score ) I placed mine on 98 octane pump gas! zdream
The new 7.25 inch twin plate Quarter Master clutch. The 3 puck brass button started to slip at the power levels experianced before the new engine build. This should fix that problem. here are some of the latest photos of the Datsun (ZDREAM ) YOU CAN SEE FROM THESE SHOTS the round roll bars, the harnesses, tailights and the boot area.the spare SIMMONS wheel fit behide the seats on a post welded to the floor and held on with wheel nuts, the seat will be done in leather(black) as will the rest of the interior, with some blue added. the boot area has in it- to the left is the water injection tank, the middle is the fuel tank ,that go's though the floor and to the right is the water injection pump and fuel expansion tank. zdream
Here are the photo of the heads after porting with the inlet runners ported and polished as well, in the first photo you can see down the runners into the inlet ports of the heads, the joint between the two can been seen. These are opened up and match ported. The second photo shows the block, bored, decked and o-ringed. the two last photos are the inlet and exhaust ports( ported, polished ) A lot of work in these heads and manifold, I hope they work! they will be on the flow bench soon, I guess I will find out soon enough. manifolds,"yes" the manifolds, a lot of work in these puppy's, cut from the steel you see in the first picture, to the finish product in the last picture. Each runner is 1.5 inch in dia and pipes are within 100mm of each the cross over pipe is 2inch

Pete84
How much flex is there left, even with the extra bracing you put in? I am able to make out the roll cage / bar, but not able figure anything else. Did you beef up the frame rails? What sort of bracing under the cockpit?
