LLave
Weird, I can still see it. Well here are some details from the auction We are offering an Indy Cosworth DFX engine assembly. The engine at one times lost a connecting rod, causing minor damage to the block and pan. This engine assembly includes: · One DFX 2.65 L Block with dry sump oil pan. The block had two damaged sleeves removed. Block will need an area the size of a quarter welded and two new sleeves installed (replacement sleeves not included). The area needing repair is non-structural and does not meet any of the machined surfaces. · Two Right side head assemblies. One needs minor combustion chamber dressing and the other will need a combustion chamber repaired. The head that is in better shape has the accessory cover with the cam assembly installed. Neither heads have valves. · One left head assembly. No valves or cams are included. It needs a combustion chamber repaired. · One Cosworth Magnesium Valve Cover · One Magnesium Accessory belt cover · One NOS DFX Crankshaft · One Used DFX Crankshaft · Two NOS sets of 8 Carrillo Rods 5.23 and 5.39 · Four used Cosworth DFX 5.23 Rods with Bearings · Four used Cosworth DFX Pistons · One Magneto Assembly with Driveshaft, Mount and Cap · One Forward Motor Mount · Two Cylinder Compression Rings Item is sold as Is Where Is. LLave
ooohhh once I rob that bank down the street I am so getting one. "We have a number of CK formula one engines available for sale. Due to the nature of these engines, we will offer complete track/build support. The CK engine is a 3 litre V10. Max revs 17,800. Max power 840 bhp. Weight 92.5kg. Lifetime 700 km, more at reduced rpm. This engine was fitted to the late Stewart Grand Prix chassis, and all Jaguar Racing chassis. Approximate cost of rebuild per engine £10k." Yeah!! veritech-z
That ebay auction has no cams or valves...I wonder how much it would cost/how hard it would be to turn that thing into a running engine after block welding and cylinder head repair? Sven
Anything is do-able. I've been quoted $300 by a very well known Ford head shop to weld and re-machine a combustion chamber I need fixed (ring land broke off & played ping-pong in the cylinder). -But I'm over my Cosworth moment anyway...
