OZZ240
Just found while looking for this and related topics that PrOxLaMus has changed his front diff mount to a Ron Tyler or R/T mount I think he changed to this mount sometime in 2009
proxlamus©
that is correct. I just wanted a more solid mount.. and it was for such a good price during the group buy. The car has been on a rotisserie for sometime now.. lol. so I have yet to try it out
Whittie
Any chance of re-hosting that pic? I need a solutio for my car after tearing the front mount and then snapping the mustache bar!!!
Darrel
His old photos used sway bar end links using longer bolts going through the diffy and cross member. It was a quick cheap solution at the time, but the RT mount is a better solution, although not as cheap as prox's first try.
jasper
Just a thought on a cheap, strong replacement for the orginal belt/limiter. I have used old SERPENTINE belts to make repairs on many items. I have never seen one break.....ever! Seems to me you could cut to length, and either bolt or clamp the joint. Might be worth a shot. JMortensen
Just imagine a couple inch long, inch wide strap of metal like you'd buy at the hardware store. These straps are welded to the front and back of the diff mount and hang below the cross member. At the bottom they have a hole drilled in them, and there is a bolt connecting the front to rear. The bolt is below the crossmember, so when the diff pulls up the bolt hits the crossmember. Put a piece of hose over the bolt if you want less vibration. SleeperZ
I used a piece of coated cable to replace the limiting strap.

SleeperZ
SleeperZ.. your still alive out there!! havent seen ya in years! Yes, and it's been almost two years since I've fired up the Z. I'd like to get it going this spring and take a spin around High Plains. I'm contemplating building a MegaSquirt so I can get the revs out of this cam....
