Motegi rims are very nice; Sears occaisionally has them on sale for maybe $450 for all 4. They would look very stylish on a Z and I almost bought a set for mine, but then decided on another set. Good luck with your search!

You will almost surely need spacers. 17x7 is common with them and should be fine on a Z with 45 or 50 series tires. If you have flares you may want at least a 1 1/2" spacer. Look for posts here from RossC and check his website for spacers that will give you proper fitting and lug pattern to run these wheels.

Be careful Motegi rims are very nice and very cheap but there very HEAVY!!!!!!!!! There average 17x7 weights 28lb's and that will slow your car down and make it hard for your brakes to work. If your going for performance these tons of other companies that sell light-weight wheels for about the same price, and you will need spacers that add another 2-4lb's per wheel

It's up to you Guy. OEM Z32 and RX7TT rims are right around 16lbs for 16x7.5 and 16x8's. 20lb's isn't bad for a reasonably affordable aftermarket rim. It DOES make quite a difference on the cars responsiveness and braking, a local Xtreme Racing Z (2200lbs/400+hp)has quite a noticeable difference in responsiveness/acceleration between his 'street' Cobra R factory rims and his 16x10 (lighter) 3 pc with slicks. Either smokes most all of us! But if you've got power to spare or you're not addicted to the G spot err force then go for it ;)

7's fit easily on a 280ZX all around with OEM suspension/fenders. With coilovers you can go to 8's up front and sky's the limit (literally!) out back.

I've got 280ZX to Honda adaptors as well if you need MML's 280ZX parts

I was looking at the motegi mr8 wheels til I found out they were 26lbs each... and that was for a 16x7 and I wanted bigger wheels than that.

You might want to look at Kosei or Rota for a lighter weight and not a huge price.

Trust us on this one, most guys don't know what the weight of their wheels are... True racer types and autocrossers take wheel weights into consideration. But the average gear head, hell if they are th right size and look cool, they'd put a 40# rim on their car and not understand where all that power went... Contact the maker before buying ANY wheels used if you are concerned about wheel weights... Adn 26# for that wheel isn't good at all... my 17X9.5 cobra R knockoffs are only 24#s and that is still to heavy in my book... Shave 40#s of your wheel and tire combo and you could free up as much as 100HP equivolant... Rotating weight in the form of tires and wheels is a VERY big deal!
