JSM
I stumbled across this car, it runs, needs brakes bleed. My thought is holding it for 3 years until my son is 16 and fixing it up for him. V8 - Auto RS model. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with this car? Good, bad and the ugly? Why I shouldn't get it and hold it for 3 years? They are tanks from my memory. My buddy totaled his into a wall and walked away without a scratch.
e_racer1999
my only thoughts are gas. although that sounds like a perfect candidate for a donor
Lunar240z
Other than a 16 year old with a v8 camaro? Can't think of a thing.
Pete84
It is alot better way to go than the IROC with their TPI intakes, which are horrible to service. I've heard of people getting actually pretty good mph on a highway trip, in a well tuned RS.

mikeatrpi
You mean, fix it up with him? You both get the father son time, you get his help, and he's less likely to drive it like an idiot if he knows how much work he put into it. Yep, I was shocked that he asked if we were going to get it tonight. I need to see if it really runs and drives.
Pete84
If it does run and drive, $500 is a steal, that is if there aren't to many issues besides the brakes.

Challenger
Buy it and work on it with your son. I go my car wen I was 11 and with all the work Ive put into it, when Its finally finished Im going to appreciate it ALOT. That means no speeding, or spinning the tires.... Pete84
More like lots of smoky burnouts . . . in the box, supervised of course . . . IIRC, the issues with the 700R4 were fixed in either '87 or '88, so it should take a bit more power.
