usafdarkhorse
I've posted an ad in the classifieds about a V12 engine from an XJ12 that I intend to pull if someone wants it. Check it out. Is this even possible as a HybridZ? It looks like it would fit.
Guest TeamNissan
I believe a member has already done that swap.

usafdarkhorse
haha. Well, does anyone want to have a go at it again? It looks great, but Id be in way over my head trying to do something like this. I think I'm going to pull it anyway and save it whether or not I or someone else could use it right away. tfreer85
The members' name is DOT has a lot of good info on his website and posting. I say go for it, have some fun learning how to do it. Tyson
Guest TeamNissan
Idk if that a swap I would advise someone to just jump into. Didn't he have to convert it to dry sump for clearance with a custom pan and all? Not exactly a v8 swap with a mounting kit.
Gollum
If I remember correctly one of his main statements about his car is that he had very little invested and could have another jag V12 in there for next to nothing if he ever broke the one he had. Heavy heavy motor for sure. Definately has the wow factor though.
badjuju
The guy I bought my 280zx from, guy named Brad, (lived in oregon) who had an s130 with a jag v12... sounded impressed with it, too.
Careless
I think the v12 s30 swap from Toronto was done on a fairly well managed budget, and it would rival the RB26 swaps and LS1 swaps we've seen on this site in terms of dollar figures. That's if you don't get bitten by the while-I'm-at-it virus.
Guest TeamNissan
Ya but thats for a swap with a auto trans too no? Idk if I would want a auto v12 swap lol.

Guest TeamNissan
Ya but does anyone know how? lol I mean the topic went to the fact it was cheap, the engine is but the rest Idk.
Gareth
I have a friend who works on these engines on a daily basis (he works for a British car specialist), and he told me that they are a pain in the a** to keep going as well as they did from the factory. Once you set it up correctly, it will just go, but if something happens, it is much more difficult to trace the problem than in the 3,8 twin overhead cam inline six found in the earlier E-Types (or XKEs in America). Note that he was reffering only to the S.U.-carburetted variant. The newer fuel-injected versions may be easier to work on, but still, this engine is best kept at the racing track, set up for best possible performance and driven the hell out of it... Gollum
That's kinda what DOT said last I saw him post. There was a big discussion about this engine choice, how good or bad it is. He had really good input, and was very convincing that once you knew the beast well enough they are great motors and very cost effective.
