grumpyvette
this might give you some insights http://www.progressiveautomotive.com/motor.htm 318/340/360 Chrysler motors...................... MM-318.......$209.00/pr. http://www.tdperformance.com/pdfs/34-universal-Swapmounts.pdf http://www.fixthisride.com/productsbycategory.jsp?cat_id=106111103111 http://www.streetrodderweb.com/tech/0305sr_chevy_six_cylinder_swaps/photo_02.html http://www.tdperformance.com/TransDapt.html http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_Volvo700-MotorMount.html if you were closer ID say bring both the car and ENGINE over and we could fabricate some, but as Ive stated several times you can use cardboard patterns , make up a set to bolt on and test clearances, bolt access etc. out of 3/8" PLEXIGLASS and GLUE/SOLVENT,to use to weld the parts, too mock up a set and then drop them off at any decent machine shop for duplicating in STEEL hang the engine exactly where you want it from the engine crane and get the angle correct with a floor jack, center it in the engine bay and verify the distributor, suspension, exhaust clearances,ETC. fab up, drill and bolt a small plexi plate to the block , place a plate on the frame or old engine mount, then fab up the connector. have the result made from steel at the local machine shop

Cause I want to put in the 318 motor and auto trans. thats on my duster into my 73 240Z from what I have been reading the motor falls right into place with out no custom motor mounts or nothing. Can some body tell me if this is just as easy as it sounds or is there more to it that just that? what might not fit or what will need to get cut out or whats not going to clear or what ever input will be good THANKS
Gollum
I'm not understand why you're so eargent, but I'm certainly curious where you heard it would "fall right into place with out no custom mouter mounts or nothing", as you put it. It's not a bolt in swap. Never has been, never will be. You WILL need custom mounts, and if you can't figure that out on your own odds are you won't be up to the rest of the swap, possibly any swap for that matter. No offense. Here's some links I found doing a QUICK 10 minute search. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=111683&highlight=mopar http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=124084&highlight=mopar (good looking data in the last post) http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121169&highlight=mopar So it looks like you can use some stock mounts for the engine, but you're still going to have to figure out a solution for the tranny mount, then you also need to have a driveshaft made/shortened. Then there's also things like throttle linkage, ignition wiring, fuel system improvements, etc. The list could go on. A swap is never just a "bolt in affair" which is what it sounds like you were hoping for.
260Mopar
OK. I'm running a 318 in a late 260. Look up how simple it is to hot rod the 318 and then consider that no mount adapters are needed for the engine, just a simple mount for the trans. The distributer is in the back like a Chev so kind of messes with the hood latch, and you don't want too high of an intake manifold. Yes, I said a straight bolt in. Don't tell anyone. Here's some pics http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=760196#post760196

Gollum
What do you mean who is wrong who is right? You've got all the info you need. If you need more spoon fend info you won't last long here. Engine: Bolts in Transmission: Need to fabricate a mount. Then there's also gonne be the wiring for the ignition, guages, etc. Pretty much all the normal engine swap stuff that I'm willing to bet will overwelm you if you need to be so spoon fed this early on. Gollum
Did you read my post? I said that it's not just a simple bolt in swap like you might think. I then proceeded to LINK YOU TO all the info you needed, and even said at the end of my post that it seems like the MOTOR can drop in, but that's it. What other info can you need/want? This isn't a commonly done swap, so you can't expect there to be a wealth of info out there. I gave you links to the most relevant threads on this site that cover as much info as exists on this site. Then you get a post from one of the very few that's done this swap, and yet you still have questions. I'm not giving you attitude. I've given you all that's availible, as spoon fed as I can manage, and you're complaining? Please read ALL of a persons post, and FOLLOW AND READ the links they provide when trying to HELP you. Maybe then you'll actually get the info they intend you to get.

KFD
I know that Shumacher Creative Services makes the motor mount adapters for slant six to V8 Mopars, but if the 318 mounts will fit in, DO THE 340!!!! Six Pack Manifold, purple cam, and call it a day! Now you I don't know if anyone else makes specialty brackets for the Mopar LA mills, but I would hit up shumy...My favorite mopar powerplant is the B 383, hands down. Greg55_99
Motor mounts. They appear to be sectioned and rewelded Dodge truck brackets on Datsun biscuits. http://forums.hybridz.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=1146&d=1156092772 http://forums.hybridz.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=1147&d=1156092901 I took these pics a few years ago when I came across a 240Z with a Mopar 360 stuffed in it in a boneyard. Car is long gone now... Greg
