Gixxer Squid
Looking for best and/or reasonable oil cooler kit to put on turbo'd Z that will hopefully get lots of trackday useage at T-hill or Button Willow where it can get pretty hot 100+. Suggestions/links and experience with them? Looking to protect the engine so cheapest not necessarily the best. Thanks, james
slownrusty
This does not exist, a "kit". You have the piece together your own oil cooler, brackets and mounting location, then run your lines off an adapter where the filter mounts. All these parts are luckily available online from Summit Racing and eBay and not terribly expensive. Yasin

Yasin So something like this would work then and then plumb it accordingly? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=BMM%2D70297&N=700+115&autoview=sku or would this kit be better in your opinions???????? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GREDDY-OIL-COOLER-KIT-NISSAN-S13-SR20DET-ENGINE-10-ROW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46095QQihZ019QQitemZ290241731777QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I saw some 16 row coolers as well, would that be that much better? Just wondering what the other turbo guys are running if anything? J

No reason to buy "brand name" from the other side of the planet when there are plenty of competition proven brands in the United States for way cheaper. That GReedy kit is missing the tub of vaseline which should be part of the kit.
Mikelly
I built a "kit" for my Vette when I was tracking it... go here: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com and check the mocal units out... don't bother going larger than a -8 on the braded lines, and you should be fine. This is the same exact setup I'm using on my V8 motorsetup and I plan on doing roadcourse duty with it in the year 2029 when the car is finally finished. Man, I know what you mean, I am feeling that I am never going to get mine on the road in this lifetime, maybe it will be done by the time the grandkids come along:tongue: and they will have something to enjoy.
