I know I already have a project thread but some times its good to hear your comments, words of encouragement, and constructive criticism, I need a lot of all of that right now. So to start things off here are some never before seen pictures of my 77 280z when I first got my hands on her, almost a year ago now.

A simple and probably incomplete list of what I have accomplished in my year of owning this car:

Basic repairs: This car was to be my daily driver so I had to get everything up to pair, this includes but it not limited to: Fixing driver side door to open from the outside, New blower motor/fan and heater vent ducts, New wiper motor and linkage, fixing shorts in electrical system.

Surface rust repair: Including new fenders, non louvered hood.

Body work: Removed the fugly bumpers, shaved the antenna hole, Fixed the larger dents.

Custom speaker box enclosure: Consisting of two 8's, two3's, and two vents.

Suspension: Just to get it lower and better then stock using MSA lowering springs and KYB struts.

Rattle can paint: I wanted the car to be one color, plus the color of the new fenders and hood I got were yellow, I was not about to have a yellow/blue/primer daily driver, Looks ten times better IMHO, Also added the airdam here.

Interior carpet kit: Carpet was going to be a finishing touch but I got such a good deal on the carpet I couldnt pass it up.

Manual conversion: As you can see the car was an auto when I recieved it, I did all of the conversion process including the actual tranny swap in a Kragen parking lot. I had to have a manual, so much more enjoyable.

L28et: I got bit by the go fast bug and dropped in an l28et, Supra intercooler, Soon to be upping the boost.

And the Result:

When I bought the car I was 16 (17 now), It was the first car Id ever owned and I knew nothing about Z's, or cars in general. I learned fast and worked hard, paying for and doing all of the work to the car myself with the help of my friends. It is nowhere near finished, but it is to a point were I can look at it with pride. Stage 1 complete.

THANK YOU HYBRIDZ!!! Now its your turn to tell me what you think, and tell me what you think I should do next. Thanks again.

Since your rocking the rattle can paint job im sure you could probably do something a little better then mesh. Maybe some amature fiberglass work? Ive yet to do any fiber work myself but from the looks of it it seems like an easy job. Personally I like the look of the lower signals better then the upper. Im going to get new lenses for my bottoms and somehow fab in a 240z grill that doesn't have the upper signals.

Keep us posted, I wanna see what you do with your airdam!

quick question about the air dam. I plan to do the conversion for my 280z also and I like the lower turn signals instead of the upper ones. What do you use to cover up the upper turn signals once you take them out completely. No point of having the upper ones when the lower ones are working.
