stony
How in the hell are you getting that turbo to spool so quick???
Careless
that's gotta be one of the best 240z dyno vids of all time!
Careless
was this run bottle assisted?
RIPSNZ
Alot of people thought the only reason we got the times/results we did was from using lots of NOS so we pulled off all the 6 port NOS system before we went on the dyno, if it aint there we can't use it. I have always had a 50 which I use on the transbrake and on the dyno run above, it was used to get things going nice and early but it made very little difference to peek whp. Z-Gad
So you do run the 50 throughout the run? It sounded like a small shot to spool up the turbo.
RIPSNZ
So you do run the 50 throughout the run?It sounded like a small shot to spool up the turbo. On this dyno run the shot is held all the way but I havn't ever used NOS all the way in a run at the strip, I have held it just as I let go the transbrake but then I've always let it go once on song in 1st and I have never used the 6 port NOS on the dyno or at the strip, don't know why we fitted it really, must have looked cool at the time and maybe we thought we would need it at some stage, lol. I'll try using the little shot all the way if I can stick it to the track next time out. I'm just hoping we do go quicker so I can watch the non believers scratch their heads as to where all the multi port NOS and my "advantage" has gone, lol. beebeecivic
dont want to sound dumb but what does it mean when its 1.4 bar?
stony
I just love how the HUGE turbo spools almost instantly once you hit the throttle. Never did try mine other then on the transbrake, even then it took a while for the turbo to spool. that probably is because the stall is so low. IF i could convince the guys at ati to give me more stall mine might work better also. they only gave me 250 ( not 2500) more rpm on the last restall. On the nitrous it stalls at around 6000 rpm. If the loosened it up another 1000 rpm i thin the motor could build enough torque to get past the sticking point and make some boost without NOS. But this setup is allot more steetable then if i had a huge stall!!! At any rate awesome job rob cant wait to see some video of this car running 7s!!!! Rob That was my reason for the question. The Turbo sound like it got a nice jolt of exhaust fumes to wake it up, and I wondered if it were button activated. I figured it had to be small, seeing your unassisted numbers from before... If it were running something bigger it would have not been "just" 1000 whp, that's for sure. RIPSNZ
1 bar = 14.7 psi so an 8.90 was run with 20spi no NOS and a real slow 60ft on DOT tyres.
