Tokico BZ3012 vs BZ3015

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me the difference between these Tokico strut inserts? I know the 3015 is listed for 240's and the 3012 for 280's (both front). I measured my 3012's at 1.70" so I don't know if they will go into a 240 strut. Also, are they the same length?

The BZ3015 and BZ3012 are identical in all respects. The part number difference has to do with the gland nut: M48 x 1.5p for the 240 and M51 x 1.5p for the 280. Either shock will fit in the 240 or 280 strut tubes. The 280 strut tubes have a larger OD and ID then the 240 strut tubes.

Bump from the dead.

So this means I should order a BZ3012 to use in the rear of a 280z when sectioning struts, so that I get the right sized gland nut, correct? The sectioning FAQ doesn't mention this, and the "shortened struts" option on Beta's website lists BZ3015's for the rear, which I would think means I'd get the incorrect smaller 240z gland nuts.

Correct. Or you can order the correct size gland nuts from me. Also, all my instructions are for shortening 240Z struts.

In reference to johnc's thread dated March 2011    On my 240z  I can exchange the Highly can not find BZ3015 for the can find anytime BZ3012 for rear cutdown strut tower with use of the ground control coil over sets. Just need to keep my original gland nut?
