RB26powered74zcar
I bought one just like that one. I haven't put it to use cause I'm still using my HKS twin plate, but once it wears, I'm going to buy a clutch to go with this lightened flywheel... I think these are a great price on a chrome molly flywheel.
voltron_boi
Does quality matters when it comes to lighten flywheel? I'm still debating if im going to get it. I need more advice?
240Z_Master
I got a flywheel from Fidanza... good unit. I was looking at that auction, and Otis at RB Performance isn't my first choice to go to.
Careless
Does quality matters when it comes to lighten flywheel? I'm still debating if im going to get it. I need more advice? yes. unless you like your feet, quality is top priority with a flywheel. I would go with a 15lbs SFI flywheel instead of a 12lbs non-SFI flywheel. zilvia_gt
yes. unless you like your feet, quality is top priority with a flywheel. I would go with a 15lbs SFI flywheel instead of a 12lbs non-SFI flywheel. Ditto, that's why I forked up the money for an Exedy one. Here's a quote on the Exedy unit; "EXEDY flywheels combine low weight, low inertia and high thermal capacity. They are designed for lightly tuned cars for drag racing, autocross, and rally events, as well as street usage. They are made from solid one-piece billet chromoly steel or chromoly steel forgings. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for better engine response. Most incorporate special design features to enhance the airflow which improves the cooling of the clutch. The ring gear teeth are integrated onto the flywheel unlike an aluminum flywheel where the ring gear is pressed onto the flywheel and has the possibility of separating from the flywheel due to the different expansion coefficients of aluminum versus steel. EXEDY steel billet and forged steel flywheels have passed engineering tests to 15,000-18,000 rpm. They are guaranteed not to fail to the said rpm, and are all SFI approved." Image of flywheel is in my album. I measured the flywheel weight to 15 lbs with a mail scale. I've read that this is the optimum weight for performance without sacrificing driveability. 12 and 10 lbs flywheels are intended for more track oriented cars rather than street driven cars, not to mention the clatter. Will that bolt onto the rb25 transmission?Just want to confirm with my cousin.

~KnuckleDuster~
I bought that fly from RB performance. It took them a couple weeks to even realize I placed the order from ebay. Had to file a claim with paypal to finally get a response from them but eventually I got it. Quality looks great and even though its a bit heavier than the fidanza you really cant beat the price. It is real annoying! That's more on the clutch type and your driving style... I've actually heard good things about the XTD flywheels. I wonder if it is really balanced, because I've seen a few posts saying their clutch setups aren't...

Click this link for some help... http://gripjunkies.larrychendesign.com/rb/9_mount/index.htm#Clutch%20Install BTW! A lot of the ACT Clutches are made by Daikin Klutch, which is the same company that imports/makes Exedy clutches. Look at the photos in my link for reference and part numbers. And they have a flywheel for these cars too, ask a distributor if you can get a package deal. Stage 2 with a lightweight pressure plate housing will be great. What kind of power are you looking at, again? SPEC 3's are usually more than anyone needs.
