ozzinc
I never thought that it would be so hard to track down some circlips for my 280zx cv shafts, I did finally get them from nissan $2.95, but trying to install the cv's shafts with the circlips on it is a pain in the butt, if anyone has a easier method of installing these shafts in the diff, please just send a post. junglist
This is a long shot, but when you finally got yours installed what method did you end up using?
MAG58
How did you get them in? When I put mine in, I implemented the standard: Be gentle as possible until it gets indignant, and then persuade with the trusty BFH.
HowlerMonkey
Don't the circlips stay in the differential?
Mayolives
Yes, the circlips stay in the differential. I needed to install them after the Quaife people forgot. I gently and gingerly slid them in place with a long screwdriver. It needs to be done with a "watchmaker's" precision.
HowlerMonkey
Dang....that's like playing the game "operation"
MAG58
Oh Those! I was thinking of something else. Anywho yes, long screwdriver and being very ginger with it.
leroylucky
Uncle, I have been searching the site for basic installation instructions for the 280zxt half shafts with the Motorsport flanges on a 72 240z. Please, can someone point me in the right direction.

bjhines
I had that problem. I cut the spring-cup off and rewelded the pieces back together(shorter of course). I actually got a set of 280ZXT shafts off a parts car that had the shorter(correct) grease caps. Then I sent them off to be rebuilt and got back 300ZX shafts that look identical but are 2" too long in the center section. When I finally got the right shafts back together I could not find any of the shorter original caps so I modded the newer ones.
leroylucky
What i did was just crush the cap on the CV shaft. I did'nt cut the spring. Hope it all works well.
sandbaggersteve
Are both halfshafts the same length? I destroyed mine this weekend and I was going to have some custom ones made, any insight would be helpful.
