TrumpetRhapsody
I know MSA makes a block off plate for the mechanical fuel pump port that some heads have... But what about distributor block off plates for those of us running Edis, COP, etc?
BURLEIGH
Hey Chris, I plan to make one for my 620 pickup and could make an extra for you if you like. What kind of ignition are you running? I just built a nice programable system for mine and am loving it! It sure makes it run a lot smoother and you KNOW that the timing is dead on. I will be installing an Innovate Wideband 02 sensor kit tonight too. That should really take all the guess work out of tuning! Anyway, just give me a call if you want one of those plate made for your Z too. Thanks, Richard
theghosttanker
I made mine myself...I went to the scrap yard and got a little piece of aluminum plate about a quarter inch thick. You can cut and form this using woodworking tools...I cut out the shapes with a band saw but it could easily be done with a jigsaw. The edges can be smoothed and rounded with a belt sander or just by hand on a coarse sheet of paper laid flat on the workbench. Holes punched with a nail and then drilled with an ordinary hand drill. I bead blasted and painted mine but you can just sand them with progressively finer grits to polish them up. Took me about half an hour in my shop, which means I would make a set (unpainted but bead blasted) for $40.00.
S30TRBO
I picked mine up from Ebay from this guy: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/NEW-OLD-STOCK-MOTORSPORTS__W0QQ_armrsZ1 I didn't see any distributor block off plates that he is selling currently, but you could contact him to see if he has more coming. Also you can use a Datsun freeze plug in a pinch.

Guest jackasknissan
hey I signed up just to ask this I know its a bump from the dead and all. sorry. But, with this block off, isnt some kind of suport bearing neeed so the drive still meshes correctly, and doesn't have a thrust issue. the reason I ask is I am seriously consitering this on my ka24e. but I would like to know how this has been working out for you guys. as the sohc is very similar in very many respects. including how the oil pump/distributor is driven, and I am having clearance issues/ would like to go with a much more radical turbo manifold plus i am going ms2 with a 36-1 trigger wheel. so my elimiation of this is a needed step. cheers -Jack
