Welcome to hybridZ :2thumbs:

When I had my first Z I had the same amount of experiance as you do, HBZ is full of TONS of great info and has alot of cool stuff to learn. Just take your time reading and searching threw the archives

Grats on your first Z, In pretty nice shape for $600 too. If you do some searching I'm sure some has covered a normal auto to manual swap. Off the top of my head: Trans, maybe a pedal box, Slave and master cyl, prop shaft, and disable the neutral safety switch.

BTW Wangan Midnight is awesome, I'd love to do a blow through setup like that if I wasn't broke .

I'm glad to hear that it is easy to work on~ I don't mind fixing little stuff.. But I think I'll be overwhelmed by doing tranny swap... I should really search this before I ask... So I apolizise in advance.. ^-^; any reputable shops in so cal you guys recommend for this job or even 280zx turbo engine and 5spd swap? Any info will be greatly appreciated! Thank you guys!

Nice Z, yeah, just use the search function, people have swapped in all sorts of trannies on these. A 83' 5speed and Turbo motor is almost a drop in and will give you plenty of power. I'd recommend you start there rather than going for the V8 right off. L28ET is cheaper too. Later on if you want more power you can get into the V8 swap, but for your first one, you should KISS. ...

Thanx Phar! I dont' think I will ever drop v8 in Z..... I will stick with nissan family... may be when I hit mega million or something.. I will swap rb26dett or custom vq45dett(jk)!! ^_^ but in the mean time... I will stick with L28... hopefully I can find one soon in decent price~ ^_^

Why does everyone have to be in so cal : ( ?As far as v8's go I have vh45dett in the works. Even the L6 has some punch... but something about these Z's leaves you wanting more power!

If you lived closer I wouldn't mind helping with the swap. After you do two or three L series in and out, you can just about do them in your sleep, lol.
