mutantZ
I was just looking at my old mikuni manifold and was wondering if it would make a good base for a custom EFI intake. It's a setup for a set of 40's, so I'm thinking the runners would be larger than the stock EFI setup. It would prob be alot more expensive than the lone wolf manifold, and you would need to weld in some injector bosses, and make a plenum, and... maybe I answered my own question. Any thoughts? blue72
Been done. Coupla' times. Easiest way is just to purchase a set of ITBs that are direct replacements for the sidedraft carbs. More complicated = doing what you stated and welding in injector bungs, more fabbing, etc, etc...
mutantZ
Yeah, I was thinking for a turbo setup, but the gains probably won't equal all the extra loot. The underhood bling on the other hand...

mutantZ
Oh yeah, I read that one awhile back. Probably the most insane intake I have seen for an L motor. I would say it was machined out of billet unobtainium.
mutantZ
A friend of mine sent me this link today. I wonder if they only make plenums for Ford engines. http://www.compsystems.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=104:apsp&catid=2:ecu&Itemid=
madkaw
For that price I think would spend my money somewhere else. 1600$ just for the plenum-ouch! I would think that kind of money would allow you to modify those Mikuni intakes anyway you want and you would have something really different---BLING!!!! Tony D
What is expensive about injector bungs and a piece of extrusion for a plenum? Guys make this a lot harder than it needs to be. Triple manifold was used on the basis of many EFI cars back in the day and to this day.
