Sketch_hs
The entire subframe and engine mounts? If it's really rusted and has some rot, replace it. If it's just surface rust, brush it off and seal the metal with some good paint or por15

Administrators BRAAP Posted November 17, 2009 Administrators Share Posted November 17, 2009 Got your PM, thank you. The '78 cross-member should work just fine. Just curious, why do you want to replace the cross member? Is it broken/bent?
NIIK
It's not bent, but in a way it is broken. It's rusted badly and it is affecting the steering, because i cant tighten the rack in place since the mounting holes where the bolt goes through is rusted off. The structure of it seems good but not the rack mounts.

If I wanted a new one ripped, I'd prefer to have it done on my terms. Granted, the second hammering with “Try...†is a bit harsh. It was in reply to the fact that original poster still didn’t fully act upon the apology he was trying to make, (i vs I)! Titus, that was a bit harsh. Getting ripped a new one on ones own terms? Sorry this is not kindergarten. We expect members to abide to the rules they agree to. We don’t “hold members accountable†on “their own termsâ€. I agree, but it's just that NIIK had already posted a new response with good grammar before Titus posted his response bashing NIIK's bad grammar... EDIT: by "on my own terms" I meant "visit my mother-in-law"
