They nistune is not made for the Rb engine but can be made to work with it. On plug and play i found is called a link G4 Rip is/was using a unit made by them.

Nistune is made for the rb engine. All you do is install a daughter board in the stock ecu and hook up a consult cable and you can tune. It uses the stock ecu wiring harness and a the stock sensors. All this for less then 500.00. Take a look at nistune.com

Power FC gets my vote. I love having the commander to monitor what the ECU is seeing.

+1, nothing beats the plain jane power fc l-jetro. The lack of knock control worries me but if you know what your doing, it can easily be adjusted through the commander. The commander pretty much has 10 guages in it, making it an invaluable source of info for dirt cheap $. I prefer the power fc pro with the 2 step, and ignition cut rather than the fuel cut in the regular.

Aem also gets my vote for the functionality of things and the user friendly tuning its capable of. Aem comes with the program to tune and with purchasing a couple of solenoids, may easily control boost, cutouts, sequential turbo(s), meth, etc... Only down side is the price, but used ones can be sourced.

Bang for the buck in the standalone EMS market, the WOLF V-500 and ViPec are excellent feature packed systems that are relatively easy to install, easy to tune, have more than enough features and capabilities for the hard core of hardcore enthusiasts, especially with their options pertaining specifically to boost.

WOLF V500;

WOLF calls it "Direct-fit". Sequential fuel and sequential injection TONs of ability to support up to 45 PSI, built in turbo timer, blended injection capability, MAF or speed density, VVT control, and with the all the analog and digital outputs/inputs, you could set up and configure just about any other item to control as well, (one AU guy is controlling his Yota auto trans). Want to use it on another engine, either purchase that direct fit harness adaptor or the universal harness and wire it yourself.

I have the V-500 and used the VG30DETT direct fit in my Z32, LOVED IT! Far cry faster, snappier, more responsive, seamless in transitions from putt putting in parking lots to WOT blasts through the gears vs the Nissan ECU! I sold the car, took all of 10 minutes to reinstall the stock ECU, kept the V-500, bought the universal harness to use in my current project, (LSx powered BMW M3). :2thumbs:

Here is the HBZ Wolf sub forum, you’ll find members using it on RB’s here;

Here are the 2 RB series direct fit kits, (prices listed are AU dollar, not US-D).

Direct fit for the RB25;

Direct fit for the RB26;

ViPec;

The ViPec offers a special RB specific ECU. And is definitely a system worth looking at. Features such as flat shift, drive by wire, etc…

This HBZ subforum has a listing of the other EMS available as well as some ViPec info;

Yeah Nistune for $500 is hard to beat. Not to mention imagine all the other upgrades you could get with the money you are saving.

Yeah, $500 is VERY hard to beat if you already have the Nissan ECU and harness. :wink:

how much does that ViPec run. Looks pretty goot. I see the other one. It would be nice if Nistune could just sell a whole board to replace all then I would not have too solder.

Last I checked it was in the $1700 range around Sept last year. Price may have changed quite bit since then.

Where is Nistune? Whenever I go to the site I only see the Ausi setup and addresses.

They are located in the land "down under" I believe that you could use a z32 ecu instead of a RB one, don't know about the RB ecu but the z32 does not HAVE to have a daughterboard installed. You can connect it to a moates romulator directly. However you will still need the eprom chip removed and replaced with a empty socket. Using a z32 ecu may require some minor wiring pinout changes.
